The course became the 217th we've played to date on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!
In our Irregular Mini Golf Tour Match-up in Clacton, I just managed to defeat Emily 48-50, with a two on the 17th and final hole!
Clacton-on-Sea also seemed nicer than our trip in 2009, a lot of the area seemed to have been given a spruce-up and there were a number of new amusements there. It's well worth a visit.
We've only ever seen one other Minigolf course on a Pier, although that one - in Southsea, Hampshire - was unplayable as there was nowhere to pay to play it!?
Brighton Pier used to have a Crazy Golf course on it too, the sign was still there in July 2008 but the course had been replaced by a Coconut Shy!
Correction (09/01/12) - Sandown Pier on the Isle of Wight also has a Miniature Golf course on it! We actually played there on the 26th July 2008! The setting of it (an indoor 'Lost World' theme) obviously made us forget we were playing above the waves!

That was one of the best new courses we've played in ages... beautiful views along the Essex coastline too. Clacton was much better on the 2nd visit too :)
Sandown Pier on the Isle of Wight has mini golf. It's indoors though. It's an aztec themed one and can be quite tricky as it's a bit dark in places! Fun though.
I think Waiton-on-the Naze peir might have mini golf as well although I haven't been there yet so can't say for certain!

You're right too, there is a Minigolf course on Sandown Pier - the funny thing is, we've played it too! It was the 66th course played on our tour, on a very very busy day trip to the Isle of Wight in 2008.
I've made a correction to the blog post now. Great memories of a fun summer trip.
Walton-on-the-Naze's Pier didn't have a course when we visited a couple of years ago.
