There will be a free Crazy Golf Funday in Alfreton, Derbyshire on Thursday 27th August.

Players can get a free round by completing a town centre trail and handing in the entry slip at the course.

The (Crazy) Golf Apocalypse

A minigolf course based on The End Times!

We played the Golf Apocalypse miniature golf course back in August 2012.

The layout had been created as part of the London Pleasure Gardens, an area set-up to tap into the passing trade between the DLR and the London 2012 Olympic Games at the ExCel centre.

Golf Apocalypse was the first really really really mad-cap pop-up course we played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

The layout contained all manner of strange minigolf obstacles and we found ourselves playing through the fuselage of a crashed aeroplane, around a pinball machine, a snooker table and into a volcano.

The pop-up miniature golf course was the first we saw to use reclaimed materials in its construction. Something that has become commonplace these days and we've seen and played a number of funky, junky, scrap, ghetto, trash, garbage, graffiti, wreckage, and art-based courses since.

The 9-hole Golf Apocalypse course was the 304th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Crazy Golf at Haywards Heath Town Day

There will be a crazy golf course at Haywards Heath Town Day.

Haywards Heath Town Day will include a free-to-play crazy golf course.

The free event in Haywards Heath, West Sussex takes place on Saturday 12th September.

The Brewmaster's Open minigolf tournament at the Camden Town Brewery in London

Playing crazy golf in a brewery!

The Brewmaster's Open minigolf tournament took place at the Camden Town Brewery in London on this day in 2012.

We competed in The Brewmaster's Open at the Camden Town Brewery 14 years ago today. It was part of the brilliant summer of sport in the capital.

More than 200 players competed in the tournament on the pop-up 5-hole crazy golf course.

Alan 'Stormin' Norman won The Brewmaster's Open with his round of 8. I finished in tied 2nd place alongside Seth Thomas.

Pit Pat Golf at Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling

There's a new Pit Pat Golf course at Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling, Scotland.

Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling is now home to a Pit Pat Golf course.

Pit Pat is similar to minigolf/crazy golf, but played on elevated tables with the ball 'putted' using cues.

Thistles Pit Pat Golf is available from the 6th July until the 2nd August.

Pit-Pat

I first saw the game of Pit-Pat (obstacle billiards) in Vienna, Austria back in 2010 - it's like minigolf but played with cues.

You can also find two permanent Pit-Pat courses outdoors at Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle in Devon (where it is known as Crazy Snooker) and outdoors at Fairytale Farm in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire (where it is called Queen of Hearts Crazy Cues).

There were previously Pit-Pat courses outdoor at Western Putting on Banjo Road in Littlehampton, West Sussex (where it was called Pit-Pat Crazy Snooker) and indoors at The Floodgate in Digbeth, Birmingham (where it was called Pit-Pat Table Golf).

Summer mini golf in Doncaster

There will be a mini golf course in Doncaster this summer.

A pop-up mini golf course will be one of the attractions at the Summer in the City event taking place in Sir Nigel Gresley Square in Doncaster this summer.

Summer in the City launches on Saturday 1st August and will be open Thursday to Sunday throughout August.

New Square Shopping Centre in West Bromwich will have a crazy golf course as part of seaside-themed fun this summer.

New Square Shopping Centre in West Bromwich will have free beach-themed activities this summer from Monday 20th July to Sunday 30th August.

One of the activities available to play will be crazy golf from 11am to 4pm on Friday 28th August.

We played a pop-up crazy golf course on a football pitch at a Charity Fun Day at Kent Athletic Club in Luton back in August 2011.

When we lived in Luton Kent Athletic F.C. was our nearest football team.

Looking online it appears that the club's home ground closed at the end of 2015. Kent Athletic F.C. does still exist though and this year celebrates its centenary.

I was in Manchester one day after this pop-up crazy golf course had closed in June 2016 so no clubs or balls were available for me to play. At least the holes were still there. The course became the 684th course visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

There's a new art-inspired mini golf course at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, USA.

The Westmoreland Museum of American Art has a new art-inspired mini golf course.

The Putt-a-Palooza course at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art will be open from the 5th June to the 30th August.

The 9-hole indoor mini golf course features holes and obstacles inspired by artwork in the museum.

CLUB GOLF pop-up crazy golf in London

Looking back at the CLUB GOLF pop-up minigolf course at Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross, London.

I was lucky enough to get a game in on the pop-up Crazy Golf course at Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross, London on the 25th February 2020.

It was the last new minigolf course I played before the coronavirus pandemic lockdown hit the UK.

The 9-hole rave-inspired art installation crazy golf course was the 948th course visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and the 542nd played.

Artists Baker & Borowski created the 9-hole themed Crazy Golf layout inspired by the rave culture in the King's Cross area back in the 1980's and 1990's.

I shot a round of 23 in my game - the scorecard noted that the maximum score allowed was 63! A seven on each hole.

Talk & Putt minigolf at Wigan Library

Wigan Library is hosting a Talk & Putt crazy golf event this Thursday, 12th March.

The pop-up minigolf event aims to encourage conversation, connections and improve mental wellbeing.
