Hythe in Kent could become home to a new adventure golf course with a Napoleonic Wars theme!

The adventure golf course would be created as part of new housing and leisure developments on the Hythe Golf Club site.

A mini golf course will be part of the new Rivals Social venue in Canterbury, Kent. The location is planned to open in December.

The new Rivals Social indoor entertainment centre in Canterbury will be home to an interactive mini golf course called PuttHub as one of the attractions on offer at the venue.

Rivals Social is also planned to have AR-enhanced tenpin bowling, AR darts and more at the site in Wincheap, Canterbury.

A new Adventure Golf course is opening at Beachfields in Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent.

The new 18-hole outdoor Adventure Golf course is planned to open on Wednesday 23rd July.

The Adventure Golf course is being created as part of the Sheerness Revival Project.

The course is being built by Rock-Venture Designs and will be located at the Sheppey Leisure Complex at Beachfields in Sheerness.

Charity Adventure Golf Championship at Folkestone Harbour Adventure Golf

A Charity Adventure Golf Championship is taking place at Folkestone Harbour Adventure Golf.

The Channel Rotary group in Folkestone, Kent is organising a Charity Adventure Golf Championship hosted at the 12-hole Folkestone Harbour Adventure Golf course behind the Harbour Arm in the seaside town.

All proceeds from the event go to local Rotary charities.

The Charity Adventure Golf Championship at Folkestone Harbour Adventure Golf will see entrants compete during dedicated qualifying times between Monday 14th and Friday 18th July.

Happy Shopper shops

Looking back at our visits to Happy Shopper shops since 2020.

We felt very nostalgic during the coronavirus pandemic and one of the old brands from our childhood we thought about was 'Happy Shopper' - the name alone conjures up images of the 1980's.

Emily's first job was at a Happy Shopper in Ipswich and I remember seeing the Happy Shopper shops and branded products a lot when I was growing up in Oxfordshire back in the 1980's and 1990's.

We didn't think there would be many - or any - of the original orange and yellow branded shops still around, but we were proven wrong when we saw one in Preston in September 2020.

The Happy Shopper branding was changed in the year 2000 and I think it lost a lot of its charm and individuality. Many of the former Happy Shopper shops have since been rebranded as Premier shops. Including this one we visited in Sittingbourne, Kent back in 2022.

Since spotting the old shop in Preston we've been lucky enough to spot and snap a few more.

The most recent Happy Shopper shop we visited was S & A Singh on Sydney Street in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. There are still a few others in London and the south of England we need to get to.

Eternit Miniature Golf in Herne Bay

An old postcard from Herne Bay reveals a lost miniature golf course.

A postcard from the seaside resort of Herne Bay in Kent was an exciting and interesting find as it showed the town was once home to an 'Eternit' style of Miniature Golf course. A lovely piece of minigolf history.

Work has started on the new Adventure Golf course at Beachfields in Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey.

The new 18-hole outdoor Adventure Golf course is being created as part of the Sheerness Revival Project.

The new Adventure Golf course will be located at the Sheppey Leisure Complex at Beachfields in Sheerness and is due to open in July 2025.

A minigolf course could be created as part of a new Laser Quest centre in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

There are plans for a new Laser Quest centre to be created in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The venue would also be home to an indoor minigolf course and arcade.

The location for the new entertainment centre would be the former Hop House pub on Knights Park in Tunbridge Wells.

The venue would be a new place for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
