New minigolf courses in the UK

I'm always on the lookout for new minigolf courses.

I post about new places planned, in development and opening using the 'New course' tag here on the blog.

If you know of a new minigolf, crazy golf, or adventure golf course opening please do get in touch.

How many minigolf courses are there in the UK today?

As of July 2025, our research indicated there were approximately 1,436 minigolf courses around the UK (and the British Isles including Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, and other islands). This figure included public courses, as well as those at pay-to-enter attractions, holiday parks, hotels, and other 'non-standard' locations. Some of these courses were also under construction / in development. Over time some locations have also been partially or fully refurbished, while others have completely swapped out an old course for a new one in the same spot. Since our last update we've also discovered and unearthed several courses we didn't previously know about that have opened in the last year or so!

Stonehenge The Big Mini Golf course in Hemsby, Norfolk (August 2021)

Did you know there's a Stonehenge-themed minigolf course in Hemsby, Norfolk?

Stonehenge The Big Mini Golf was the 174th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour in June 2010 when it was a 15-hole layout. We first visited it in May 2009 when it was a 12-hole course. It's now an 18-hole course.

Mini Golf Lanes tech-minigolf at Lane7 in Manchester

Lane7 at the Great Northern warehouse venue on Deansgate in Manchester has introduced 'Mini Golf Lanes' to the venue.

Rather than playing a round across a course consisting of several different holes/lanes, the high-tech mini golf at Lane7 sees players book a lane for a session of games and challenges.

Crazy Golf at Northwich Christmas Extravaganza - Saturday 29th November

There's a free-to-play Crazy Golf course at the Christmas Extravaganza in Northwich, Cheshire.

Mini Golf Lanes at Lane7

Lane7 in Manchester has a new high-tech twist on minigolf.

Lane7 at the Great Northern warehouse venue on Deansgate in Manchester has introduced 'Mini Golf Lanes' to the venue.

Rather than playing a round across a course of several holes, the Hi-Tech Golf at Lane7 sees players book a lane for a 60-minute session of minigolf games and challenges.

Peter Rabbit Adventure Golf at Willows Activity Farm in St Albans

Finding the Peter Rabbit Adventure Golf course at Willows Activity Farm in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

My brother Christopher - a charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour - and his family recently visited Willows Activity Farm in St Albans, Hertfordshire and while there spotted the Peter Rabbit Adventure Golf course!

The Peter Rabbit Adventure Golf course at Willows Activity Farm is an outdoor 9-hole layout based on the fictional character by Beatrix Potter!

The Peter Rabbit Adventure Golf course opened at Willows Activity Farm in 2024.

Emily and I have been to 1,111 courses overall in the last 19 years, with 1,050 of those locations in the British Isles.

The new Play Putt indoor crazy golf & bar venue is opening next to DJ's Play Jungle in Sandridge, St Albans, Hertfordshire in December.

The team at DJ's Play Jungle will be opening a new indoor crazy golf course in Sandridge, St Albans, Hertfordshire.

The Play Putt indoor mini golf & bar in Sandridge will be a new one for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

PuttHub Mini Golf at Rivals Social in Canterbury, Kent

Rivals Social is opening in Canterbury, Kent in December.

A mini golf course will be part of the new Rivals Social venue in Canterbury, Kent. The location is planned to open in December.

The new Rivals Social indoor entertainment centre in Canterbury will be home to an interactive mini golf course called PuttHub as one of the attractions on offer at the venue.

Rivals Social is also planned to have AR-enhanced tenpin bowling, AR darts and more at the site in Wincheap, Canterbury.

The Maidenhead Christmas Lights switch-on event on Saturday 22nd November will feature a mini golf course for visitors.

Mini Golf on the Saundersfoot Harbour Coastal Schooner

There are plans to create a mini golf course on Saundersfoot Harbour’s Coastal Schooner.

The Coastal Schooner is a replica of a traditional vessel which would have operated in the area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The schooner is home to a museum and the new indoor mini golf course would become part of the attraction.

The mini golf course onboard the Saundersfoot Harbour Coastal Schooner would be a new one for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

We visited Saundersfoot on our travels back in 2009 where we played a Crazy Golf course just off the main promenade, and found a minigolf putting course at The Merlewood Hotel.

The new Adventure Mini Golf course is planned to open in December.

Bay View Mini Golf opened at the Tennis & Bowling Club in Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby this year. It's closed for the season, but re-opens in 2026.

Bay View Mini Golf in Robin Hood's Bay looks like an interesting and unique course - it's a crazy golf course with raised borders, but played on a grass putting surface! There's a new mini golf course at Mad Swans in the Mendips - between Bath and Bristol.

Mad Swans is a new venue and home to a mini golf course.

Pukka Putters lorry mini golf course by The Professional Idiots

A mini golf course has been created inside a lorry!

Pukka Putters, a 9-hole mini golf course built inside two lorry trailers, has bene created by The Professional Idiots and is available to play in Tunbridge Wells until this Sunday.

New mini golf at former Adventure Wonderland theme park site in Hurn, Christchurch

There are plans for a new mini golf course to be created at the former Adventure Wonderland theme park site in Hurn, Christchurch, Dorset.

The outdoor mini golf course would be part of improvements to the site following the closure of the Adventure Wonderland theme park.

It'll be interesting to see what the new course looks like and to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour in the future.

Mini Golf (also known as Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf) is an incredibly popular leisure and sporting activity for all ages, and we're seeing an exciting boom in new courses opening up across the UK.

From the seaside to the city centre.

While minigolf was traditionally a seaside summer pastime in the UK, the last decade or so has seen its growth into more urban settings, with many venues now catering to a late night audience. It can be the perfect activity for groups of friends, families, and young and old alike. The game continues to evolve and captivate players all year round.

We often visit Leeds and have visited most of the courses there on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We're looking forward to a return visit to Leeds to see what's new.

Planning to visit a Mini Golf course - check ahead of time.

Where possible please do check that the course is still there and open before travelling to it. The online presence of courses is improving, and the way businesses market themselves is always evolving, so it's becoming somewhat easier to find the opening and closing times of courses. That said, we've spent the last two decades attempting to play as many courses as possible, and even we've ended up finding courses to be derelict, abandoned or unplayable when we've arrived!

A new Globalls Mini-Golf venue is planned to open in Weymouth, Dorset.

The team at Globalls Mini-Golf are planning to open a new indoor glow-in-the-dark venue in Weymouth, Dorset.

The new Globalls Mini-Golf course location is opening on St Thomas Street in Weymouth and will be home to two indoor 12-hole crazy golf courses.

Putt Above Mini Golf is now open in Bristol.

The latest Putt Above Mini Golf has opened in Bristol.

Putt Above's minigolf courses differ from others in that each hole on a courses is projection mapped onto the same lane, so you don't walk the course - more like it's brought to you.
