CLUB GOLF pop-up crazy golf in London

Looking back at the CLUB GOLF pop-up minigolf course at Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross, London.

I was lucky enough to get a game in on the pop-up Crazy Golf course at Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross, London on the 25th February 2020.

It was the last new minigolf course I played before the coronavirus pandemic lockdown hit the UK.

The 9-hole rave-inspired art installation crazy golf course was the 948th course visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and the 542nd played.

Artists Baker & Borowski created the 9-hole themed Crazy Golf layout inspired by the rave culture in the King's Cross area back in the 1980's and 1990's.

I shot a round of 23 in my game - the scorecard noted that the maximum score allowed was 63! A seven on each hole.

Talk & Putt minigolf at Wigan Library

Wigan Library is hosting a Talk & Putt crazy golf event this Thursday, 12th March.

The pop-up minigolf event aims to encourage conversation, connections and improve mental wellbeing.

Golf Apocalypse crazy golf

Looking back at the Golf Apocalypse crazy golf course in London.

We played the Golf Apocalypse miniature golf course back in August 2012. The layout had been created as part of the London Pleasure Gardens, an area set-up to tap into the passing trade between the DLR and the London 2012 Olympic Games at the ExCel centre.

Golf Apocalypse was the first really really really mad-cap pop-up course we played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

The layout contained all manner of strange minigolf obstacles and we found ourselves playing through the fuselage of a crashed aeroplane, around a pinball machine, a snooker table and into a volcano.

The pop-up miniature golf course was the first to use reclaimed materials in its construction. Something that has become commonplace these days and we've seen and played a number of funky, junky, scrap, ghetto, trash, garbage, graffiti, wreckage, and art-based courses since.

The 9-hole Golf Apocalypse course was the 304th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Christmas Crazy Golf in 2009

A look back at a festive pop-up crazy golf course in London.

Back in 2009 there was a Christmas-themed Minigolf course at Devonshire Square in London.

You had to putt into Santa's mouth - look in the photo above to see where it exited!

We'd played the course on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour in October of that year when it was a 'normal' pop-up.

The Chrizy Golf Masters minigolf competition in Manchester

I won the Chrizy Golf Masters minigolf tournament in Manchester 13 years ago today!

The first - and to date only - Chrizy Golf Masters minigolf tournament was held on a festive-themed pop-up crazy golf course at Piccadilly Place in Manchester on the 30th November 2012.

The Chrizy Golf course was gone once the 2012 festive season was over and the building remained empty, or used for other pop-ups, until the team at Junkyard Golf made it their home for another minigolf course. That layout was there for a couple of years. They have since moved on and can be found at a permanent venue at First Street in the city.

The Chrizy Golf course was the 313th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We've now been to 1,111 courses since September 2006.

Candy Cane Crazy Golf in Doncaster

There will be a free-to-play Crazy Golf course in Doncaster this Christmas.

Candy Cane Crazy Golf will be set-up and free-to-play in Doncaster city centre this Christmas.

The festive-themed mini golf course will be set-up on Frenchgate in Doncaster on the 6th and 7th and 13th and 14th December, and then again daily from the 18th December to Christmas Eve.

Pukka Putters lorry mini golf course by The Professional Idiots

A mini golf course has been created inside a lorry!

Pukka Putters, a 9-hole mini golf course built inside two lorry trailers, has bene created by The Professional Idiots and is available to play in Tunbridge Wells until this Sunday.

Plans for an Adventure Golf course in Scarborough

There are plans for an adventure golf course to be installed in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

The 18-hole outdoor adventure golf course would be installed by the team at Observation Wheel UK and be in place until October 2027.

Pop Up Crazy Golf in St Albans - Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th September

There will be a pop up crazy golf course in St Albans, Hertfordshire this month.

The pop up crazy golf layout will be set up at Civic Close in the city on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th September.

The crazy golf activity is free of charge. It is being organised by the St Albans City Centre BID to help celebrate the city's golfing heritage - which includes being the birthplace of The Ryder Cup.

The Winter Glow Christmas Experience event returns to Malvern this festive season.

There will be a free-to-play Crazy Golf course in Skipton, North Yorkshire on Friday 1st August.

Six English Heritage locations will have Mini Golf activities this summer.

Summer Mini Golf at Osborne

The Mini Golf courses at English Heritage sites are part of a summer of activities in partnership with the TV show Taskmaster.

The pop-up mini golf courses have been created at six of English Heritage locations around the country including Audley End House and Gardens, Carisbrooke Castle, Kenilworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden, Osborne, Pendennis Castle, and Wrest Park.

Where to play Mini Golf.

The six English Heritage sites with Mini Golf courses in July and August 2025 are:

Summer Mini Golf at Wrest Park

Our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

It's always excellent to find out about new minigolf courses - whether they're permanent, pop-ups, or refurbs - and the English Heritage pop-up activities look like the courses are in nice spots for a round during the summer.

My little brother Christopher, a charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour, has been a member of English Heritage and he and his family have been to a lot of English Heritage properties over the years (including Audley End House and Gardens, Kenilworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden, Pendennis Castle, and Wrest Park). It'll be interesting to see if they will be going to any of the six sites with Crazy Golf this summer.

There will be Crazy Golf at The Last Day of Summer event in Liverpool.

Liverpool's waterfront will be hosting The Last Day of Summer event on Saturday 30th August.

The day of activities begin at 11am and finish at 5pm and will see a 9-hole Crazy Golf course as one of the attractions.
