Our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

The Adventure Golf course at The Railway became the 1,064th course visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour, the 1,007th we'd been to in the British Isles, and the 575th course played on our travels since 2006.

We've now been to 1,099 miniature golf courses to date, with 1,038 of them being in the British Isles. Of these 1,099 we've been able to play 591 (some many many many times over).

I had a fun afternoon at the NFL UK Experience New York Jets Vs Pittsburgh Steelers Watch Party at Courts Club in Manchester on Sunday.

Met some mascots, saw the Vince Lombardi trophy, and played some mini-games.

I watched a LOT of American Football over the weekend!

Hopefully there'll be more NFL events in Manchester in the future.

Crazy Golf at the Rhos Fynach in Rhos on Sea

The Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach in Rhos on Sea, Wales is being refurbished.

The outdoor Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach pub and restaurant in Rhos on Sea will shortly be receiving a refurbishment. This will see the course closed from Monday 16th June and reopening on Saturday 28th June.

We're looking forward to seeing what the refreshed course looks like.

We played the 9-hole Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach pub and restaurant in Rhos on Sea on Miniature Golf Day back in 2017. The course was the 462nd played and 781st visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

We've got a nice old postcard showing a previous course that was in the same location.

Drinking in a 'video shop'

Recalling a visit to what is now Rewind NQ in Manchester's Northern Quarter.

Time certainly flies - it's been three years since we first went to Rewind NQ in the Northern Quarter.

The theming is really well done and the bar had a chilled atmosphere. It's worth a visit.

Video shop hunting in 2025

We're big fans of video, videos stores, retail history and retro stuff and have been visiting and documenting the last remaining traces of the Blockbuster brand in the UK over the last few years. We've seen a number of the brand's shopfronts, signs and QuikDrop boxes. As well as some other video shops.

It's very nice to see there are still businesses active in the 'video rental' sector!

RBT Video in Wakefield - a video shop speakeasy

A visit to RBT Video in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

We visited RBT Video in Wakefield while in the city for the Star Walk event at Trinity Walk.

We've wanted to revisit Wakefield and go to RBT Video for quite a while, so it was brilliant to check out the speakeasy and visit the pop culture event at the shopping centre too.

We've been nostaglic for the halcyon days of the video shop for a few years now, and while you can't actually rent out videos at RBT, it is fun checking out the video shop 'front' to the speakeasy.

I don't remember seeing R.B.T. on the shelves at my local Ritz Video back in the day!

Definitely not a Blockbuster Video shop

You don't need to ask Spuds MacKenzie to let you into the bar, but you do need to know the movie codename of the week to gain access!

Pubs of Stockport during the coronavirus pandemic

A look at Stopfordian Pubs during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Five years ago today we photographed The Kings Tap on Station Road in Cheadle Hulme. It became the first of 265 pubs, bars and clubs we visited in the borough between April and the 4th of July 2020 when the first coronavirus pandemic lockdown ended.

Pub number 1 - The Kings Tap on Station Road in Cheadle Hulme. A lovely Art Deco building. We'd never seen it shuttered before the lockdown. It's since undergone a change of ownership and is now called The Watchmakers Bar & Grill

We visited each of the pubs while on our daily outdoor exercise between Wednesday 1st April and before pubs were allowed to reopen with social distancing measures on Saturday 4th July.

It gave us something to do during the lockdowns and it was interesting to see the variety of architecture, different signage, parts of the town we haven't been to for a long time and other parts of the area we'd never been to. I documented the pubs on Instagram using the #StopfordianPubs tag.

At the 265th pub on our lockdown 'pub crawl'. Not a drop was drunk on our daily walks in April, May, June and July!

18 years ago on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour

A look back at the 10th course played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

We visited the 10th course on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour on a bitterly cold 23rd December 2006 Emily, my brother Christopher and I headed along to the Horse and Harrow Pub in West Hagbourne, Oxfordshire to have a game on their beer garden Crazy Golf course.

And what a course it was - we'd not seen anything like it before! And we haven't seen anything quite like it since!

We visited the course again in April 2011 and while it was a bit drier, it was still a very mossy layout.

Little did we know back then that our interest in crazy golf would become an obsession and that we'd visit 1,075 courses over 18 years.

Together with Christopher and his family we've now been to a grand total of 1,122 courses since we all picked up a putter in Southsea on the 30th September 2006.

From Blockbusters NQ to Rewind NQ in Manchester

The video rental shop themed bar formerly known as Blockbusters NQ is now known as Rewind NQ.

The inside of the bar is still packed with old VHS tapes!

It was fun having a drink in a 'video shop' speakeasy.

We began a holiday in North Wales at Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea on Miniature Golf Day in 2017. To celebrate the occasion we teed-off on the Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach pub and restaurant in Rhos on Sea.

Hole 3 - The Squid - is one of two holes on the course that has a choice of cups to aim for. A 'Kids' and an 'Adults' version - both were pretty tough!
