Finding the Peter Rabbit Adventure Golf course at Willows Activity Farm in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

My brother Christopher - a charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour - and his family recently visited Willows Activity Farm in St Albans, Hertfordshire and while there spotted the Peter Rabbit Adventure Golf course!

The Peter Rabbit Adventure Golf course at Willows Activity Farm is an outdoor 9-hole layout based on the fictional character by Beatrix Potter!

Our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Emily and I have been to 1,111 courses overall in the last 19 years, with 1,050 of those locations in the British Isles.

Together with Christopher and his family's branch of the tour we've visited a total of 1,165 courses!

The Original Crazy Golf course on South Parade in Skegness, Lincolnshire (May 2011)

The site of England's first-ever Crazy Golf course is now home to a hotel.

A new Travelodge hotel and Starbucks drive-thru are now open on the location of England's first Crazy Golf course.

The Original Crazy Golf course on South Parade in Skegness, Lincolnshire had been derelict since 2018.

England's first 'Crazy Golf' course opened on South Parade in Skegness in 1926 and the game is widely known by that name in the UK. Crazy Golf is seldom, if ever, used overseas except in tourist spots popular with UK holidaymakers.

In May 2015 The Original Crazy Golf course became the 363rd played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We'd first visited the course in 2011.

We've also got some nice old postcards of the course in our collection.

We played the 9-hole outdoor Adventure Golf course in the pub beer garden of The Railway Inn in Westerfield, near Ipswich, Suffolk on a visit to the town to see family last year.

Our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

The Adventure Golf course at The Railway became the 1,064th course visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour, the 1,007th we'd been to in the British Isles, and the 575th course played on our travels since 2006.

We've now been to 1,099 miniature golf courses to date, with 1,038 of them being in the British Isles. Of these 1,099 we've been able to play 591 (some many many many times over).

There's a minigolf record listed in the 2026 edition of the Guinness World Records book.

You'll have to check out a copy of the book to see which one it is!

The 2024 edition of the Guinness World Records book had a whole page dedicated to minigolf records. Including one I hold.

The book also has a crazy golf element on the brilliant cover art challenge.

Lost minigolf courses - Crazy Golf on Exeter Road in Bournemouth, Dorset

There's an abandoned minigolf course on Bournemouth's Exeter Road.

A look at the derelict minigolf course on Exeter Road in Bournemouth, Dorset.

We found a minigolf course in Bournemouth on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in June 2009 and when we revisited in July 2013 it was still there. On Emily's recent trips to the seaside town in December 2024 and this month she found it was still in place, but in a derelict state, with many of the holes lost.

The former 18-hole course is on Exeter Road and next to the café/restaurant.

The course is very similar in design to the busy course that can be found over the road in the Lower Gardens and the championship course in the Boscombe Chine Gardens, though in an entirely unplayable state.

KK’s Krazy Golf & Sports Bar in Burnley

KK’s Krazy Golf & Sports Bar in Burnley, Lancashire has an indoor Krazy Golf course.

Having a search for minigolf courses in Lancashire I found that an indoor layout opened at a venue in Burnley last year!

KK’s Krazy Golf & Sports Bar on Queen Street in Burnley opened in June 2024 and is home to an indoor 9-hole Krazy Golf course.

We haven't been to Burnley in some time and the town is long overdue a revisit. It'll be nice to check out KK’s Krazy Golf & Sports Bar on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
