How to play minigolf
Here's a minigolf sign about 'How to play minigolf' - in three languages (English, German and French).
We found the sign at the minigolf course in Stoke Park, Guildford, Surrey on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in 2008. We revisited and replayed the course at Stoke Park on National Miniature Golf Day in 2016.

Tomorrow is National Miniature Golf Day
Happy National Miniature Golf Day Eve!
Where will you be celebrating National Miniature Golf Day?
Playing the Crazy Golf course in Stoke Park, Guildford on National Miniature Golf Day in 2016
There are two 'miniature golf days' each year.
- National Miniature Golf Day is always on the second Saturday in May. In 2026 that will be Saturday 9th May.
- The other minigolf day, Miniature Golf Day, is always on the 21st September. In 2026 the 21st falls on a Monday.

Crazy Golf at Leopoldpark in Blankenberge, Belgium

Treasure Island Adventure Golf in Southsea
A look at Treasure Island Adventure Golf in Southsea.
Treasure Island Adventure Golf in Southsea, Hampshire, England was the first place we visited on what would become our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
We played the Victory Trail course at Treasure Island Adventure Golf in Southsea, Hampshire, England on Saturday 30th September 2006.
At the end of our 9-hole round I won a free game by firing the cannon on the lucky last hole!
When we got home from the weekend away we found a list of 600 or so minigolf courses in the UK and wider British Isles. We thought it'd be fun to see how many of them we could visit on day trips and weekends away to the seaside.
To date we've been to 1,114 miniature golf courses. 1,053 of them have been in the British Isles.
When our crazy golfing travels began in 2006 there were around 600 miniature golf courses in the UK and wider British Isles.
There are now more than 1,400 - and there are lots of new places to play the game opening all the time.

How to play mini golf
This City Golf Group scorecard holder has a guide on how to play mini golf.
It was at the Swedish Felt Mini Golf course on Southend Pier in Essex when we visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour in 2016.

Lost minigolf courses - Abingdon-on-Thames Crazy Golf
A look back at the old Crazy Golf course at the Abbey Meadows in Abingdon-on-Thames.
One of the courses we've visited and played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour travels but has since become a 'lost' course was the 10-hole Crazy Golf layout at the Abbey Meadows in my home town of Abingdon.
The course was the first one I ever played way back in the early 1980's.
The course had been in the park since the 1950's but was removed at the end of the 2016 season as part of renovations to the area.
It's always sad to see an old miniature golf course removed. Especially so when it's not replaced by a new one.
The last hole of the first course I ever played
In August 2007 the course became the 31st played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Adventure Island Golf in Mundesley, Norfolk
A look back at our visit to the Adventure Island Golf course in Mundesley, Norfolk.
Back in May 2014 Charter Member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher Gottfried let us know about the Adventure Golf course in Mundesley, Norfolk.
We finally got to visit and play the course in July 2016.
The layout became the 406th played and 692nd visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
Adventure Island Golf is a great 12-hole course, with plenty of tricky obstacles and some very nice theming. And for a 12-hole course there were certainly a lot of themes going on! With Pirates, Cannibals, Dinosaurs, Jungles and more.
In our match-up Emily won with a 34 to my 37 - getting off to a flying start with a great hole-in-one on the first.
A round of minigolf at the course costs £3.50 for adults and it's worth a play.

Crazy Golf at Stoke Park in Guildford
A look back at our visit to the Crazy Golf course at Stoke Park in Guildford, Surrey on National Miniature Golf Day in 2016.
The Swedish Felt B-Run course used to be a 12-hole layout. In 2016 it had grown to be a full 18-holes, and had a very different playing surface - with astroturf 'grass' and raised 'bunkers'.
Check out the photos of the new 18-hole Crazy Golf course layout below.
The course was built by City Golf Europe
It's a very tricky layout
This hole was nigh on impossible to play!
This one was trickier now it has thicker 'grass'
The longest hole on the course
A loop-di-loop with felt on the outside of the obstacle!
Another very difficult hole to play
