Crazy Golf Tournament at Putt Putt Social in Norwich

A Crazy Golf tournament is being held at Putt Putt Social in Norwich on Friday 17th May.

My brother Christopher spotted this advert for the event while in Norwich this week

The team event will be contested at the indoor Crazy Golf venue inside the Castle Quarter shopping and entertainment centre in Norwich.

Putt Putt Social Crazy Golf Tournament in Norwich

New Adventure Golf course at The Pumpkin House at Brookhill Farm in Thursford

The Pumpkin House at Brookhill Farm in Thursford, Norfolk will have an Adventure Golf course this year.

The 9-hole farm-themed minigolf layout will open from the 25th May. Opening days/times will vary so please check the farm's website for more information.

It'll be a new course for us to check out on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. 

Container Golf at Ffolkes

A visit to the Container Golf course at the Ffolkes Pub and Hotel in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

My brother Christopher, a charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour, and his family recently stayed at the Ffolkes Pub and Hotel in King's Lynn, Norfolk. While there they played the 9-hole Container Golf course.

Toys R Us at Cathedral Retail Park in Norwich

A look at the Toys R Us store at Cathedral Retail Park in Norwich, Norfolk in April 2022.

Toys R Us closed in the UK in April 2018.

It's been very interesting to find that there are still remnants of the brand on some retail parks in the UK and we've visited a number of these closed, abandoned, derelict and demolished Toys R Us locations on our travels.

We first visited the old Norwich store in August 2021.

My first job while at university in the year 2000 was as one of Geoffrey's helpers at the Luton store. I worked on the video game and electronics section.

The former store in Norwich is now being turned into a Home Bargains.

We were surprised and amazed to see an old Happy Shopper sign while en route to Hemsby during an East Anglian Road-Trip.

We had taken a couple of detours because of traffic and ended up on a different road towards the seaside that took us through the village of Ormesby St Margaret. We're always looking for points of interest and new things to spot when on our travels and as we drove past the village shop we both said to each other jokingly "I wonder if that used to be a Happy Shopper?"

Imagine our shock when we saw a really old, classic Happy Shopper sign in one of the shop windows!

We didn't think there would be many - or any - of the original orange and yellow branded shops still around, but we were proven wrong when we saw one in Preston in September 2020.

Since then we've been lucky enough to spot and snap a few more.

New Crazy Golf at Richardson's Hemsby Beach Holiday Park in Norfolk

Richardson's Hemsby Beach Holiday Park in Norfolk will be home to a new Crazy Golf course.

The Crazy Golf course is part of a programme of renovations and upgrades at Richardson's Hemsby Beach Holiday Park.

There used to be an Arnold Palmer Putting Course at Pops Meadow Putting Green in Gorleston-on-Sea. Back in May 2009 that layout became the 100th visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

There's a Crazy Golf course at Mulligans in Norwich, Norfolk.

We swung by Mulligans in Norwich at the end of last year while staying in the city. The indoor course was very busy!

You can find Mr Mulligan's minigolf courses in Basildon, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cheltenham, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham, Romford, Sidcup, Stevenage, Tonbridge, Woking, and Worcester.

We played the Mulligans courses at the indoor location in Milton Keynes on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour last October.

Castaway Island Mini Golf replaced the 9-hole and 18-hole Arnold Palmer Putting courses on the promenade. We visited in July 2016 and the course became the 693rd on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. When I returned in May 2022 it became the 556th course played.

Octoputts Crazy Golf in King's Lynn, Norfolk

A new indoor crazy golf course is open in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The 18-hole indoor glow-in-the-dark crazy golf course has an underwater theme.

It'll be a new course for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour next time we're in the area.

Crazy Golf plans for King's Lynn

There are plans for a Crazy Golf course to open in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The indoor Crazy Golf course is planned to open on the Hardwick Industrial Estate in King's Lynn.

It'd be a new course for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We've got family in Norfolk and often stay in King's Lynn when visiting.

The business behind the Crazy Golf plans is Oceanus Leisure, owners of Little Sharks Soft Play Centre in the town.

Pop's Meadow Crazy Golf in Gorleston-on-Sea

A look at the Pop's Meadow Crazy Golf course in Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk.

My brother Christopher and his daughter Elena made a Crazy World of Minigolf tour visit to the Crazy Golf course at Pop's Meadow in Gorleston-on-Sea yesterday.

The 18-hole Crazy Golf course is the latest layout to exist at Pop's Meadow. Miniature Golf of one sort or another has been played on the site since the early to mid-1900's.

Emily and I played the 9-hole Arnold Palmer Putting Course that was at Pop's Meadow back in June 2010.

We originally visited Pops Meadow on the 10th May 2009, but on that occasion the course was closed. That course visit was the the 100th overall on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

The combined total of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour now stands at 1,071 courses visited since September 2006.

Christopher also swung by the old course at Pop's Meadow before the site was taken over by the new owners.
