Exhibition minigolf

Looking for a way to engage with delegates at events, then use minigolf.

We've played a number of portable and pop-up minigolf courses on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour, many of which were at business events and exhibitions.

Putting courses and obstacles are a popular addition to stands at trade shows and exhibitions. Way back in May 2007 I played an UrbanCrazy minigolf hole at the International Direct Marketing Fair at Earl's Court.

As a marketer I'm all for innovation. Over the years I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly of events.

Crazy Golf is experiencing a boom and gaining popularity as a business tool. UrbanCrazy's range of minigolf games and course layouts have been going strong for well over a decade. Putterfingers also offer Crazy Golf layouts for a number of different business and leisure events. While the team at HM Adventure Golf have a modular minigolf course layout that is being used for events and temporary courses.

Putting a Putter in the hands of a delegate at an event is a great way to keep them on your stand, break the ice, have a chat and generate some friendly competition.

Minigolf courses have also been hired by a number of venues to increase footfall. Among these are shops, shopping centres, retail parks, schools, colleges, universities, office developments and even a brewery!

The beauty of minigolf is that it's such a fun and easy, pick up and play game.

There are a number of suppliers of portable minigolf course and I've listed those whose courses I've played on below:

Atlantis Adventure Golf in Skegness

New Adventure Golf course opening soon in Skegness.

The new Atlantis Adventure Golf course is opening at Skegness Aquarium in March 2019

A brand new Adventure Golf course is nearing completion and will be opening soon in Skegness, Lincolnshire.

The team at HM Adventure Golf have almost finished building Skegness Aquarium's new 18-hole Atlantis Adventure Golf course at Tower Esplanade.

Skegness is a real hotspot for minigolf and the first Crazy Golf course in the country opened on South Parade in Skegness in 1926.

Once Atlantis Adventure Golf opens the number of courses on the seafront will hit double digits. At the last count there were 102-holes spread across nine seafront courses in the town. There is also a Pitch & Putt course and a Crazy Golf layout at the North Shore Holiday Centre a short walk from the front, as well as an Adventure Golf course at the town's Butlin's.

Keep an eye on Skegness Aquarium's website for more information on the course opening in March 2019.

We're looking forward to playing the Atlantis Adventure Golf course on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Our friends and minigolf rivals Matt and Helen Dodd were recently in Bognor Regis and swung by the new Wildforest Falls Adventure Golf course at Hotham Park.

Matt said the course was good but tough and had quite a few holes he’d never seen before.

We're yet to play the Wildforest Falls Adventure Golf course. The old minigolf layout at Hotham Park and the Putting course that was formerly on the site were the 273rd and 274th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in October 2011.

Gravitee Adventure Golf in Oxford

A visit to Gravitee Adventure Golf at the Ozone Leisure Park in Oxford.

We were recently back in my home town of Abingdon-on-Thames for a special Bun Throwing event and while down south took the opportunity to swing by the new Gravitee Adventure Golf courses at the Ozone Leisure Park next to the Kassam Stadium in Oxford.

Gravitee Adventure Golf is home to two 18-hole courses - the Space Odyssey and the Galactic Explorers - and they became the 852nd and 853rd visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Gravitee Adventure Golf is the sister course of The Golfing Hole in Swindon. We had a brilliant time playing that layout back in January 2015.

The new Gravitee Adventure Golf layouts are superb and we had two fun rounds there.

A very smaller crater to putt through

It was the first time in over twenty years that I had a game of minigolf with my parents! It's amazing to think that Emily and I have visited so many courses in the last twelve years, but not had a game during our travels.

A pair of Galactic Explorers on the course

The matches were very close, with my dad Chris taking an early lead on the Space Odyssey course, before a disastrous seven on the tenth hole put a dent in his hopes of winning.

Emily took the victory on the Space Odyssey layout with a round of 47. I shot a 49, Chris a 53 and my mum Mary carded a 56. Emily and my dad were the only players to hit a hole-in-one, both acing the 18th.

Moving on to the Galactic Explorers course and Emily took a fine win with a score of 42. I was second again with a round of 46, while my mum and dad both shot rounds of 50.

We really enjoyed our competitive and fun rounds on the Gravitee Golf courses and had a drink in the bar area to cool off after the games. I also had a game of Air Hockey against my dad, which I won 7-4.

The theming at the indoor Adventure Golf venue is fantastic. The courses were built by the team at HM Adventure Golf. The Martian landscape on the Galactic Explorers course is incredibly well done, while the UV glow-in-the-dark section of the Space Odyssey course is the best I've seen on my travels.

Galactic Golf in Halifax

A new indoor Crazy Golf course recently opened in Halifax - Galactic Golf.

Galactic Golf is now open in Halifax
Galactic Golf has two space themed 18-hole courses

Check out the Galactic Golf website for more info.

It's another course we'll have to visit on our never-ending quest to visit every minigolf course in the UK. When we began in 2006 there were 600 courses. To date we've visited 853, including 38 courses overseas.

Luckily, it's not a million miles from us and we'll have to swing by when we're next in the area.

New Adventure Golf course at Cardiff Golf Centre

There's a new dinosaur-themed Adventure Golf course opening at Cardiff Golf Centre.

We've got a new course to add to our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour 'to visit' list as there's a brand new Jurassic Adventure Golf course opening at Cardiff Golf Centre this week!

The 18-hole dinosaur-themed Adventure Golf course has been created by the team at HM Adventure Golf and will be open very soon. Visit the Cardiff Golf Centre and Tee-Rex Golf websites for more info, opening times and prices.

In April we played one of HM Adventure Golf's creations on a fun visit to Haigh Woodland Park in Wigan. I also had a round on their nice indoor layout in Bolton last December.

Adventure Golf at Haigh Woodland Park in Wigan

Playing the new Adventure Golf course at Haigh Woodland Park in Wigan.

On Saturday 8th April we headed to Haigh Woodland Park in Wigan to contest the first-ever Great Northern Minigolf Open tournament on the two minigolf courses in the park. First up was the new Adventure Golf course.

The Haigh Woodland Park Adventure Golf course is in a wonderful setting

The 18-hole course is Wigan-themed and was great fun to play. There was a lot of variety and some very large obstacles. It was certainly tricky in places too.

The course became the landmark 700th we've visited in the UK and our 727th overall since our crazy golfing adventures began in September 2006.

Back in 2012 I visited Haigh Country Park and the Play Haigh Golf Complex there. Where the new Adventure Golf course now stands there was once a grass Putting Course called The Himalayan Putting Green.

The new Adventure Golf course was proving popular on our visit - as was the park in general. It was a good job we teed-off our event at 10.45ish as the park and course only got busier during the day. The weather was wonderful which certainly helped.

The course was nice, bright and colourful

In the first round of the Great Northern Minigolf Open competition the scores were:
1st - Russ Dent - 44
2nd (tie) - Richard Gottfried - 49
2nd (tie) - Scott Lancley - 49
4th - Emily Gottfried - 52
5th - John Moore - 54
6th (tie) - Cat Patterson - 65
6th (tie) - Ryan Lancley - 65
8th - Ethan Rottenbury - 67
9th - Zoe Lancley - 83
