Globetrotters Mini Golf at Tilgate Park in Crawley

You can find a Globetrotters Mini Golf course at Tilgate Park in Crawley, West Sussex.

The crazy golf pop-up will be there until the 24th August.

There will be a pop-up Dinosaur Mini Golf course at Swinton Square in Salford this summer.

There will be a dinosaur minigolf course in Salford this summer

Games tee-off on the free-to-play dino crazy golf course on Monday 1st August and run until  Sunday 21st August. Players can tackle the course between 10am and 4pm.

We'll have to go along for a game on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour as it's quite near to us. And we've never been to that bit of Salford before.

Woolworths shopping trolleys in Bolton

Seeing some shopping relics on a trip to Bolton.

We're always interested in spotting remains of retailers of yesteryear and while in Bolton we remembered that we'd heard there had been some former Woolworths shopping trolleys in Bolton Indoor Market.

Luckily they were still there. An odd place for them to end up after the closure of Woolies back in 2009. But good to see they're still knocking around. Even if they have been locked up and put out of use!?

Other former Woolworths shops

It's fun seeing old & lost brands, ghost signs and retail relics. I took a look at the ghost signs on a former Woolworths store on Blackpool promenade last September.

We saw a Woolworths ghost sign in Nuneaton in May last year too. That was a nice surprise!

Like the Blackpool store, the Nuneaton shop site had also most recently been a Poundland and a TJ Hughes.

The last Woolworths shop in the UK closed in January 2009. Every so often remnants of the brand become visible again.

We visited the Woolworths in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent in September 2020. That store still had the signage in place and we'd originally spotted it while driving through the town the previous November.

We took a look at an old Woolworths store in Brunstane, Edinburgh in August 2011. That was a Big W Woolworths store at The Jewel retail park. It's long gone now.

You can however still see an old mosaic tile logo at the former Woolworths on Stamford Street Central in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

Interestingly, there's a playable Woolworths Pick n' Mix Crazy Golf hole at the Teezers Retro Golf course in Coventry!

The grass Putting course at Blenheim Gardens in Minehead town centre was the 996th course visited since September 2006. It was pretty easy to find - once you spotted the brown tourist signs for it!

Happy twelfth birthday to the Crazy Golf Museum

The Crazy Golf Museum is twelve years old today.

Many happy returns to the Crazy Golf Museum as it marks it's twelfth birthday today.

I set-up the museum with Crazy Golf legend Tim 'Ace Man' Davies back on the 15th July 2010.

Since then we've continued to fill the virtual museum to make it a treasure trove and archive for all things related to minigolf.

It's certainly been a very interesting twelve years!

A massive thank you to everyone who has shared their minigolfing memories, crazy golf items and adventure golf updates over the years. We're looking forward to continuing our promotion of the game for many more years to come.

PIAG Open 2022

Details of the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open competition.

The PIAG Open tees-off this week, with Paradise Island Adventure Golf courses around the UK offering players the chance to enter the event when they play a round at the course.

The event begins on Thursday 14th July and ends on Sunday 17th July.

The annual PIAG Open competition takes place across Paradise Island Adventure Golf's eight venues and is the largest Open miniature golf tournament in the UK with thousands of players competing across different age categories at each venue.

I won the PIAG Open at the Manchester Trafford Centre venue in 2018 and Emily won the event in 2019.

Adventure Golf at Hounslow Golf Park

There are two new 18-hole Adventure Golf courses at Hounslow Golf Park in London.

Volcano Island Adventure Golf opened at Hounslow Golf Park this month and is home to the Eruption and Cascades courses.

The Hounslow Golf Park venue is also home to a number of other golfing activities including a driving range and a 9-hole course.

I do enjoy spotting wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube men advertising stuff. But I don't see them often enough for my liking. The last one we saw was a Santa airdancer in Dereham, Norfolk last November.

So it was a real treat when I spotted this fellow while walking home from Stockport town centre on Saturday afternoon!

Happy National 7-Eleven Day

It's National 7-Eleven Day.

7-Eleven convenience stores celebrate National 7-Eleven Day on when else but the 11th July.

We were surprised to see a number of 7-Eleven stores in Stockholm on our last trip there in 2018. We'd only ever seen them in the USA before that

The first 7-Eleven Day was held in 2002.

New Crazy Golf course planned for Norwich

There are plans for a new 24-hole Crazy Golf course as part of a venue at Norwich's Riverside area.

It'll be another new place to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Dinosaur World Adventure Golf in Walsall

There's a dinosaur-themed Adventure Golf course at Calderfields Golf Driving Range in Walsall.

The 18-hole Dinosaur World Adventure Golf course in Walsall opened in November last year. We'd first heard it was being planned in 2020.

Filwood Fantastic Crazy Golf in Knowle West, Bristol

We helped launch the Filwood Fantastic Crazy Golf course in Knowle West, Bristol a year ago today!

We had a superb time at the launch of the Filwood Fantastic Crazy Golf course in Knowle West, Bristol on Saturday 3rd July 2021.

This is my favourite hole - the obstacle at the top of the ramp hid a sneaky surprise!

The real life miniature golf course was created during the pandemic and the ideas for the hole designs were generated by members of the Knowle West community during Lockdown 1.

We loved being a part of the clubhouse and tee party online meetings and to play the unique course and meet the people involved was brilliant.

I managed to score a hole-in-one taking the direct route across the beachy 'bridge'

I had the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially launch the course alongside Meg - the creative genius who led the lockdown project!

The Filwood Fantastic Crazy Golf course was the 966th course visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and the 549th we've played since September 2006.

Lincoln will soon be home to a new Crazy Golf venue.

The team at Gloryholes Crazy Golf are opening a new adults-only course in Lincoln this September.

The 13-hole course and bar will be located on Lincoln High Street.

There are Gloryholes Crazy Golf venues in Nottingham and Sheffield.

We've just returned from a holiday in Minehead, Somerset and visited three more miniature golf courses on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

We've now been to 996 minigolf courses overall, with 951 of them being in the British Isles.
