PIAG Open Championship 2023

The Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship is returning this month.


The PIAG Open tees-off this week, with Paradise Island Adventure Golf courses around the UK offering players the chance to enter the event when they play a round at the course.

The PIAG Open Championship is taking place across Paradise Island Adventure Golf courses between the 20th and 23rd July.

Paradise Island Adventure Golf have eight venues in England and Scotland.

PIAG Open 2022

Details of the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open competition.

The PIAG Open tees-off this week, with Paradise Island Adventure Golf courses around the UK offering players the chance to enter the event when they play a round at the course.

The event begins on Thursday 14th July and ends on Sunday 17th July.

The annual PIAG Open competition takes place across Paradise Island Adventure Golf's eight venues and is the largest Open miniature golf tournament in the UK with thousands of players competing across different age categories at each venue.

I won the PIAG Open at the Manchester Trafford Centre venue in 2018 and Emily won the event in 2019.

Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championships 2021

The PIAG Open Championships are back for 2021.


The Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championships are once again taking place at the indoor Paradise Island Adventure Golf courses around the country. The events were cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This year's event runs from the 15th to the 18th July.

Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship 2020

Unfortunately the annual Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship will not be taking place at the current time.

The annual large participation event was due to tee-off today and run until close of play on Sunday.

The decision is understandable, but we're really looking forward to playing in the event again in the future.


The team at Paradise Island Adventure Golf are hoping to reschedule the event later this year.


Emily won the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship at the Trafford Centre in Manchester last year, while I won the 2018 competition.

Emily scored a course record of 30 on the Temple Ruins layout - the course par is 42 - which was enough to fend off the challenge of thousands of other players who competed over the four-day event. Her round included seven holes-in-one on the 18-hole course.

The annual PIAG Open competition takes place across the brand's eight venues and is the largest Open minigolf tournament in the UK with thousands of players competing across three age categories at each venue.


All of the Paradise Island Adventure Golf centres have now reopened following lockdown and have social distancing measures in place.

Happy 12th birthday to Paradise Island Adventure Golf in Manchester

Today is the twelfth birthday of Paradise Island Adventure Golf at Manchester's Trafford Centre.

The 36-hole indoor Adventure Golf venue at the Trafford Centre opened on this day in 2008. How time flies!

The Tiki Hut Trail and Temple Ruins Adventure courses were the 85th and 86th courses played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in 2009.

We've returned a number of times since then and following our move north in 2016 Paradise Island Adventure Golf became one of our local places to play.


I won the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championships in 2018 and Emily is the reigning champion having won the tournament in 2019.

Aces at Paradise Island Adventure Golf Manchester

A look at some holes-in-one at Paradise Island Adventure Golf Manchester in the Trafford Centre.

We returned to Paradise Island Adventure Golf Manchester for the third time this year and hit some more holes-in-one on the Tiki Hut Trail and Temple Ruins Adventure courses.
















We've now made 22 minigolf course visits and revisits in the first 22 days of 2020.


Paradise Island Adventure Golf Manchester was the last minigolf venue we visited in 2019. We've been there three times this year already.

Last year we visited a total of 82 miniature golf courses and revisited and replayed a lot of layouts.

We've now been to 945 courses since September 2006.

Our first games at Paradise Island Adventure Golf for 2020

Last night we called into Paradise Island Adventure Golf at the Trafford Centre in Manchester for a couple of games on the two 18-hole courses.



In our round on the Temple Ruins Adventure we both scored 36.

In our round on the Tiki Hut Trail I shot a 34 and Emily scored 40.

Last year Emily broke the course records on both of the layouts at Paradise Island Adventure Golf in Manchester.

In July Emily scored a record on the Temple Ruins course to win the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship with a round of 30, including seven aces.

In August she shot a 33 on the Tiki Hut Trail course to beat the previous record by one-shot.


So far this year we've visited seven courses and played at three of them.

In our round on the Temple Ruins Adventure course Emily scored a brilliant win with a score of 31 to my 34. Emily's round included seven holes-in-one.

This year Emily has broken the course records on both of the 18-hole courses at Paradise Island Adventure Golf in Manchester.

In July Emily scored a course record on the Temple Ruins layout to win the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship with a round of 30, including seven aces.

In August she shot a 33 on the Tiki Hut Trail course to beat the previous record by one-shot.

The PIAG Manchester courses were the 85th and 85th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in April 2009!

This year we visited 82 miniature golf layouts and revisited and replayed a lot of courses too.

A couple of rounds at Paradise Island Adventure Golf in Manchester

We returned to Paradise Island Adventure Golf at the Trafford Centre in Manchester last night for our first rounds on the two 18-hole courses for a few weeks.

Teeing-off on the Temple Ruins course first Emily shot a 33 to take the win, scoring five holes-in-one in the process. I hit a 35, including four aces. I had a crazy start to my round going 1, 3, 1, 1, 3!

Next up was a quick game on the Tiki Hut Trail. I scored a 34 with four aces, while Emily shot a 36, including four holes-in-one.

This meant our match over 36-holes was a tie, with 69 apiece.

On aces Emily won 9-8.

On round difference I won with a difference of 1, to Emily's 3.

We both won a free game on the lucky last hole too!

Playing the Tiki Hut Trail at Paradise Island Adventure Golf Manchester

We had another fun night playing Paradise Island Adventure Golf at the Trafford Centre in Manchester yesterday.

This time we played the Tiki Hut Trail and Emily won with a score of 33 to my 36.

33 is the best either of us have ever scored on the Tiki course and looking on the leader-board it was a new Course Record too!

It was Emily's second win in-a-row on the Tiki Hut Trail following our match-up with Seth Thomas in July.

Emily also scored a Course Record on the Temple Ruins layout to win the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship last month with a round of 30, including seven holes-in-one on the 18-hole course.

Paradise Island Adventure Golf in Manchester

A return visit to Paradise Island Adventure Golf at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

We returned to Paradise Island Adventure Golf at the Trafford Centre in Manchester for a round on the Temple Ruins course last night.

In our 18-hole match-up I defeated Emily with a score of 35 to 37.

Paradise Island Adventure Golf at the Trafford Centre in Manchester

Last Saturday we visited Paradise Island Adventure Golf at the Trafford Centre in Manchester for a couple of games against our friend and minigolf rival Seth 'Clockwork Orange' Thomas.

Having recently won the PIAG Open championship Emily was the one to beat and in the first round, played on the Tiki Hut Trail, Emily took the win with a score of 37. Seth was second with a 39, while I hit a 40.

Round two took place on the Temple Ruins layout. I scored a round of 35, including seven holes-in-one! Emily was second with a 38, while Seth was one-shot back to finish third.

Emily and I tied for the win on 75 shots each, with Seth on a combined score of 78.

Result of the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship in Manchester

Emily Gottfried from Cheadle Hulme wins the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship in Manchester.

Emily Gottfried has won the 2019 Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship held at the Trafford Centre.


The annual PIAG Open competition takes place across Paradise Island Adventure Golf's seven venues and is the largest Open miniature golf tournament in the UK with thousands of players competing across three age categories at each venue.

Emily scored a course record of 30 on the Temple Ruins layout to win the competition. The course par is 42. Her round included seven holes-in-one on the 18-hole course.

Emily, 37 said "I am so happy to win the PIAG Open in Manchester. It's a great course that I really enjoy playing, so to get seven aces in my round was really nice. There are a lot of well-designed and aceable holes at the Trafford Centre course, so I'm really pleased I managed to get my best ever round there for the tournament on Sunday. I can't wait to play again already. The trophy is wonderful too!"

Emily and her husband Richard, 38 are minigolf addicts and regularly travel the UK playing courses. Together they have visited 912 Crazy, Mini and Adventure Golf courses since September 2006.

Richard was the defending Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Champion, but had to settle for third place this year.

Emily wins the 2019 Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship

Emily is the 2019 Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Champion after winning the tournament held last weekend.


Emily scored a course record of 30 on the Temple Ruins layout - the course par is 42 - which was enough to fend off the challenge of thousands of other players who competed over the four-day event. Her round included seven holes-in-one on the 18-hole course.

As well as the nice trophy Emily received a 6-month free game pass so we enjoyed another round yesterday evening. We're looking forward to our next minigolf match-ups at Paradise Island Adventure Golf.

We're looking forward to a return visit to Plymouth on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We stayed in the port city during our tour of the South West of England in 2015.

Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championships 2019

The Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championships are once again taking place at the indoor Paradise Island Adventure Golf courses around the country.


This year's event runs from the 18th to the 21st July and will also see action at the newest Paradise Island Adventure Golf venue at Rushden Lakes.

Paradise Island Adventure Golf in Manchester

Since November last year Emily and I have been regularly playing the Paradise Island Adventure Golf courses at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

Back in April 2009 the Tiki Hut Trail and Temple Ruins Adventure courses at PIAG Manchester became the 85th and 86th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We've now visited 859 courses and since we moved north in 2016, Paradise Island Adventure Golf's Trafford Centre location is our local course.

In our nine-event challenge contest running from November to January we played a total of eleven rounds, with six games on the Temple Ruins course and five on the Tiki Hut Trail.

Emily teed-off the series on the 14th November 2018 with a win on the Temple Ruins course with a 37 to 39 result. I followed this up with a 33 to 39 win on the Tiki Hut Trail. We tied our round on the Temple Ruins on the 27th November.

On the 6th December I shot a 32 to Emily's 42 on the Tiki Hut Trail, while Emily beat me 34 to 36 on the Temple Ruins on the 18th December.

In our first rounds of the New Year I won 33 to 36 on the Temple Ruins and 36 to 37 on the Tiki Hut Trail on the 2nd January.

On the 16th January I hit a 32 to Emily's 35 on the Temple Ruins and then followed up with a 35 to 37 victory on the Tiki Hut Trail on the 23rd January.

Our final rounds saw us shoot a 33 and a 36 on the Tiki Hut Trail and a 34 and a 37 on the Temple Ruins.

Overall I scored a total of 205 on the Temple Ruins, with Emily recording a total of 214. On the Tiki Hut Trail I shot 169 to Emily's 191.

Paradise Island Adventure Golf has courses in Manchester, Cheshire Oaks, Derby, Glasgow, Livingston and Sheffield. A new PIAG course is also being built at Rushden Lakes in Northamptonshire.
