Crazy Golf course at the Ipswich Maritime Festival

My brother-in-law Rob Harper was at the Ipswich Maritime Festival over the weekend and spotted they had a Crazy Golf course there! Minigolf courses certainly do pop up everywhere!

It looked like an interesting 9-hole layout - hole 7 appears to be Stonehenge!

Putting Edge portable minigolf

Playing the Putting Edge portable minigolf course at Prolific North Live 2017.

The team Putting Edge minigolf were exhibiting at Prolific North Live 2017 at EventCity in Manchester so I got to play minigolf while wearing both my @putting_gott and @marketing_gott hats!

The Putting Edge minigolf course gets the thumbs-up from me - even if David from Putting Edge had made the second hole very very tough indeed!

The tricky little 2-hole Putting Edge minigolf layout was the 722 visited on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and the 423rd played since September 2006.

I really liked the ramp and jump on the first hole - I shot a few aces on it

Admittedly I had a fair few goes on the course (probably enough to constitute a full round of 18-hole), but by the time I left I'd equaled the day's low score of 4, with an ace and a three. The long dog-leg second hole was nigh on impossible to get a hole-in-one on.

Check out the Putting Edge website for more details and do get in touch with David to find out how he can help make a difference to your event, function or exhibition space.

The Indomigo Minigolf Course

Finding out about a new portable Miniature Golf course from Germany.

While reading the latest issue of the German Minigolf Sport Federation’s publication – “Minigolf Magazin” – I noticed a very interesting advert on page 17 for an indoor Minigolf course kit!

The product is called Indomigo and provides an 18-hole Miniature Golf course in a portable suitcase.

It looks amazing and you can see a video of the net obstacle in action here and Bahn (hole/lane) "Hohes Loch" here. I can't wait to give it a play.

The Indomigo Minigolf course allows you to build a variety of hole layouts with a lane created by putting the three base pieces together, placing the tee-off point and then adding the modular obstacles.

The kit fits together via magnets and you can make up all manner of obstacles set-ups with the kit.

Developed by the Heinen family in Berlin, Germany the Indomigo course is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and costs €875.

I know what I want for Christmas...

Play Portaputt Crazy Golf at Cwmbran Shopping Centre

Portable Crazy Golf course to be set-up at Cwmbran Shopping Centre on Saturday 30th March.

Edited 25th March 2013

The team at Portaputt Crazy Golf will have their Crazy Golf course available to play for free at Cwmbran Shopping Centre on Saturday 30th March 2013.

The Miniature Golf layout will be at Gwent Square from 11am to 4pm.

The event had been due to take place on Saturday 30th March, however the unseasonably snowy weather put paid to that! Fingers crossed the weather is better this weekend!

The Portaputt Crazy Golf course is ideal for a range of events and activities and can be hired for use at corporate events, fund raisers, by schools, for wedding receptions, parties (for the young and old) and by pubs & hotels to name a few!

There will also be a special discount given for people making bookings for Minigolf parties after playing the course on the day!

The prize for the best photo was a Birdies Pop Up Golf t-shirt. Although it's a bit cold to be wearing them now (unless playing Minigolf indoors)!

In the Birdies Pop Up Golf Official Launch Night Competition I finished 2nd in the field of over 30 guests at the event. The winner had a score of 38(+2), while I shot a 39(+3). Emily scored a 43(+7) in the two round, 18-hole contest.

As well as the main contest we also had some friendly rounds and mini-minigolf competitions against fellow Minigolfers Jon Angel and Richard Linden of UrbanCrazy.

In the first contest Jon and I tied on scores of 20(+2) over 9-holes, with Emily hitting a 22. Our play-off saw Jon take the victory with  a hole-in-one at the third extra hole.

In the second contest I shot a 19(+1), Richard Linden hit an 18(par), while Jon scored 17(-1) to take the win.
