Course Played #63 Shanklin (Isle of Wight) - Beton Crazy Golf - Crazy World of Minigolf Tour

On the 26th July 2008 we headed to the Isle of Wight for a marathon day of Minigolf action.

The first course we played on the island was the Beton Crazy Golf Course in Shanklin, which became the 63rd course played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

In the 'Shanklin Classic' minigolf competition, played as a stage of the 'Hampshire & Isle of Wight Invitational Tournament' the results were:
1st - Richard Gottfried - 42(+6)
2nd - Emily Gottfried - 45(+9)
2nd - Christopher Gottfried - 45(+9)

I remember that plateau hole being particularyly difficult, but the setting for that course was gorgeous and the weather was perfect.

My fellow Minigolf enthusiast Peter 'The Crazy Aced Assassin' Jones recently spotted that the old Beton-style Minigolf course in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight has been redeveloped and is now a brand new Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course!

The grass Putting Course has also been converted and is now a Pirate Adventure Golf course!

Emily and I can't wait to revisit the Isle of Wight and play these two new courses :-)

Check out the Shanklin Seafront website for more info and photos of the new courses.
