Marge Simpson graffiti in Manchester
Spotting some Marge Simpson graffiti high above Deansgate in Manchester.
You need a keen eye for street art to spot this piece |
While on our first walk in Manchester city centre for quite some time on Saturday Emily spotted this piece of Simpsons graffiti high above Deansgate.
We recently spotted some Itchy & Scratchy graffiti on the Fallowfield Loop in Manchester and last August we saw this Simpsons graffiti in Newcastle upon Tyne.

It's always fun spotting Simpsons-related stuff while out and about.
I saw this sticker for the Kings Cross Tattoo Parlour while down in London last year.

The Simpsons art on an ice cream van
We spotted an interestingly decorated ice cream van in Cheadle on Friday.
It's always fun seeing The Simpsons in unexpected places |
It's not the first time we've seen The Simpsons on an ice cream van - we saw this one in Leeds and another in Cheadle Heath.
This was on the High Street rather than Abbey Road |

Bart Simpson at Stonham Barns Crazy Golf
A bootleg Bart on a miniature golf course.
The Crazy Golf course at Stonham Barns was the 33rd visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in August 2007. We've now been to 949 courses since 2006 |
The old Crazy Golf course at Stonham Barns Golf Park has now been replaced by the Smugglers Bay Adventure Golf course. That was the 815th we visited.

A new Putting Pencil
One of the nicest things about visiting a new minigolf course is seeing what scorecards and branded pencils they have. Not all courses have them and at present some courses have stopped giving them out. Other courses use apps for players to use as scorecards while others use a mix of the old-school approach mixed with technology and offer both scoring options.
On our travels to 948 miniature golf courses we've collected quite a few putting pencils.
Earlier this week I blogged about the fact you can now play Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge from The Simpsons! It's available as an online game as well as a download.
I bought the downloadable version and as a nice bonus you receive a scoring pencil.
It's something different to add to my collection of minigolf ephemera.

Play Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge from The Simpsons
You can now play Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge from The Simpsons!
I know which club I'm choosing |
I love The Simpsons and I love Putting so I was very very very happy to hear that Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge from the show has been made into a playable game!
Many thanks to my friend and minigolf rival Martyn Williams from the Welsh Minigolf Club for sending the link to me.
Play Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge online
It's certainly cheered me up on this Minigolf Monday and is a bright spot in an otherwise incredibly gloomy year.
Happy Putting.

The Simpsons street art in Newcastle
I love finding street art and I'm a big fan of The Simpsons so it was superb to find this huge mural near The Tyne Bar on the quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne.
We also spotted some Simpsons-related pieces by the Cack Handed Kid on our walk around the city.

Spotting another Simpsons ice cream van.
It's always fun spotting Simpsons stuff while out and about and the family often appear in the artwork on ice cream vans, such as this glorious one we saw in Leeds.
We've also seen The Simpsons adorning Steve's Ices in Stockport.

The Simpsons ice cream van
We do enjoy spotting bootleg things and one of the best places to see them in use is on ice cream vans.
Continuing the bootleg Simpsons theme how about this for some ice cream van art we saw in Leeds last December.

The Cereal Killer Cafe just before it opened for breakfast |
It's full of great retro items from the 80's and 90's.
A wall of VHS tapes! |
There are loads of retro and import breakfast cereals on display |
WWF breakfast cereal! |
Wocka wocka wocka |
While I couldn't eat any of the (gluten-full) breakfast cereals, I could buy some of the great merch there |
And there's a Simpsons arcade cabinet at the cafe - it's a classic game and one I've been playing since 1992! |
I've been trying to complete the game for 25 years and I finally achieved it at the Cereal Killer Cafe (thanks to the Free Play) |

A visit to Bridlington
Blog from a couple of hours in Bridlington.
In July we had a fun, albeit short, trip to Bridlington. The seaside town has long been on our to-visit list and it did not disappoint. We're already really looking forward to going back for longer next summer.
Well be posting more pics and videos from the minigolf, crazy golf and adventure golf courses we played there, but before we get to that I had to post a snap of this great inflatable that we saw at the Bayside Fun Park on the seafront!
I'm always on the lookout for quirky and fun stuff to spot on our travels. We see quite a few Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube Men aka Airdancers. And next door-but-one to the Treasure Island Adventure Golf course there was one sat atop the Tidal Treats shop!
