Today is World Rock Paper Scissors Day!

World Rock Paper Scissors Day is always on the 27th August.

The Daily Mini Golf Game from TallyHo Golf is launching a full version in September.

TallyHo Today, the Daily Mini Golf Game from TallyHo Golf is currently available in beta and will launch a full version on Monday 7th September 2026.

I've been enjoying playing the fun and challenging game. The game provides a 3-hole layout to play every day of the week, with a bonus challenge hole to compete on a separate leaderboard each day.

It's nice to see all of the collated stats for your game as they develop over time.

Winning the 2012 World Alternative Games Egg Throwing Championships

A look back at the 2012 World Alternative Games Egg Throwing Championships in Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales.

I was one half of the winning pair to scoop the title of World Egg Throwing Championships at the World Alternative Games in 2012!

My team-mate Jas Kukielka and I were victorious in a field of 19 teams, with players from Wales, England, France, the Republic of Ireland, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands competing for the gold medal.

The sport involves one player as the Egg Thrower and one as the Egg Catcher. Each pair chose two raw eggs and throw / toss / lob the egg to their partner. The Thrower always remains at one end, with the Catcher moving further back after each successful catch until there is just one team left standing with a whole unbroken egg.

About the World Alternative Games.

The World Alternative Games was a festival of sport that took place in Britain’s Smallest Town – Llanwrtyd Wells in Wales. The inaugural edition in 2012 saw over 50 different weird and wacky, odd and obscure sports taking place during the two week event.

The World Alternative Games were held in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018.

I recently found out about a new sport - Cornhole Golf.

Cornhole Golf is a new twist on the games of cornhole and minigolf.

You can currently play Cornhole Golf at Mars-Bethel Golf in Mars, Pennsylvania and at Beaverfork Lake RV Resort in Conway, Arkansas in the USA.

I was part of the team supporting and promoting my brother Christopher's business - Outdoor Professional Products - at The National Outdoor Expo held at The NEC in Birmingham last weekend.

Our stand was part retail store / part inflatable axe throwing game and saw thousands of visitors and customers over the big two-day event!

Visiting the Power Hall: After Hours event at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester.

We recently attended the Power Hall: After Hours event at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester - and I spent a lot of the evening in the Power Up exhibit playing a lot of old videogames on original hardware.

We first visited the Power Up exhibition at the Science and Industry Museum back in 2019 - where I got to play a Philips CD-I for the very first time. We didn't know it'd reopened until we heard about the Power Hall: After Hours event.

The Cyberdrome Crystal Maze game experience

Memories of playing The Cyberdrome Crystal Maze game experience in Tenby, Wales.

We played The Crystal Maze game at the CC2000 tenpin bowling & entertainment, near Narbeth in Wales back in 2009.

The Crystal Maze was a staple part TV diet during my childhood and teenage years, and it would've been brilliant to go on the show.

During our minigolfing road-trip around the Welsh coast in 2009 we took a break from playing Crazy Golf to visit the Oakwood Indoor Family Entertainment Centre - where we entered The Crystal Maze!

At that time it was the last remaining example of the 'Cyberdrome Crystal Maze' games in the UK. Sadly it closed for good in June 2010. It would've been brilliant to return for a few more games there.

The Cyberdrome Crystal Maze was absolutely superb to play. We think more of them should have been built back in the day. There were only ever eight built - five in the UK, two in Japan, and one in Dubai.

Just like the TV show, games were played in four themed zones - Aztec, Futuristic, Medieval, and Ocean. But unlike the TV show players were guided around the maze by Merlin - a computerised Maze Master.

We managed to win six of the nine games we played, and in the Crystal Dome itself we collected 103 Gold and 28 Silver 'tokens' for a grand total of 75. So we didn't win the "super-duper" prize.

However, we were first on the leaderboard for the day and got "1st of 1" printed on our souvenir certificate!

At that time the Cyberdrome Crystal Maze was the closest you could get to playing the real Crystal Maze. Now you can play The Crystal Maze LIVE Experience in London and Manchester. The Manchester venue is so close to us that we really ought to get a team together for a game there!
