Putt U Miniature Golf in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, USA

A Crazy Golf Museum blog post about Putt U Miniature Golf in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, USA.

Putt U Miniature Golf in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, USA

As the Curator of the Crazy Golf Museum and a BIG fan of minigolf it's always wonderful to see, hear from and learn about different minigolf courses around the world.

One of the first courses we found out about in the USA when our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour travels began in 2006 was Putt U Miniature Golf in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - thanks in part to how active they are at promoting their venue and the wider game and sport of minigolf.

So it was marvellous to recently receive a very nice package of minigolf goodies from Randy Bloch at Putt U Miniature Golf!

Putt U's two mini-golf courses.

Putt U Miniature Golf in Center Valley, Pennsylvania is home to two 18-hole outdoor mini-golf courses - the Blue course and the Red course.

The history of Putt U Miniature Golf.

Putt U Miniature Golf was established in 1998 and has consistently topped the rankings as the best miniature golf course both locally and in Pennsylvania. The venue has also hosted two National championships and is a real test of putting skill for pro and non-pro players alike - with 20 hazards on each layout.

Each course has an official par of 57 and also has three different tee-off points - one for kids, one for 'normal' play, and one for the pro players!

The Blue course measures slightly longer than the Red course at 1,192 feet to 1,172 feet, with both of the 18-hole courses having a course record of 39 shots.

A BIG thank you to Randy and all the team at Putt U for thinking of us at the museum. It's brilliant to get an insight into the courses and we hope to visit and play at Putt U in the future.

Find out more about Putt U.

Please do check out the Putt U Miniature Golf website, and give the business a follow on FacebookInstagram and X. And subscribe to the Putt U YouTube Channel

One of the things I really like about Putt U, is how they regularly post updates and messages on the sign that is prominently displayed outside the course. And they share these on their social media too.

Have you played at Putt U? If you have, please let us know what you thought of the courses and what you scored there?

We're looking forward to visiting and playing at Putt U Miniature Golf on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

The Crazy Golf Museum.

I set-up the museum with Crazy Golf legend Tim 'Ace Man' Davies back in July 2010.

Since then we've continued to fill the virtual online museum to make it a treasure trove and archive for all things related to minigolf, crazy golf, adventure golf, miniature golf, Putt Putt, and putting.

It's certainly been a very interesting 15 years!

A BIG thank you to everyone who has shared their minigolfing memories, crazy golf items and adventure golf updates over the years. We're looking forward to continuing our promotion of the game for many more years to come.

A Walkabout Mini Golf VR Pencil

An interesting miniature golf pencil.

We always enjoy finding and seeing minigolf courses with branded pencils and our friend Pat Sheridan from The Putting Penguin minigolf review website has passed a fair few our way over the years.

But this one is most peculiar as it's a real life pencil for a virtual minigolf game!

A new Putting Pencil

One of the nicest things about visiting a new minigolf course is seeing what scorecards and branded pencils they have. Not all courses have them and at present some courses have stopped giving them out. Other courses use apps for players to use as scorecards while others use a mix of the old-school approach mixed with technology and offer both scoring options.

On our travels to 948 miniature golf courses we've collected quite a few putting pencils.

Earlier this week I blogged about the fact you can now play Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge from The Simpsons! It's available as an online game as well as a download.

Do you think you can reach the Parking Lot with a Putter?

I bought the downloadable version and as a nice bonus you receive a scoring pencil.

It's something different to add to my collection of minigolf ephemera.

Urban Putt in San Francisco

Many thanks to our friend and minigolf rival (and sometimes team-mate) Kevin 'Max' Moseley for posting us a minigolf scorecard and pencil following his recent visit to Urban Putt in San Francisco, California.

It's always great to see and receive ephemera and collectibles from around the world. These are two fine additions to the Crazy Golf Museum's archives.

Check out the Urban Putt website for more information and to take a virtual tour of the indoor miniature golf course.

Happy March

Find out about the Cumberland Pencil Museum in the Dull Men's Club 2017 Calendar.

The star of March in the Dull Men's Club 2017 Calendar is Dawn Walker, the Curator of the Cumberland Pencil Museum in Keswick.

Back in 2012 we visited Keswick but didn't have time to visit the Cumberland Pencil Museum as we played the minigolf course at Hope Park instead.

Playing minigolf in Keswick
Keswick was a wonderful spot for an afternoon of miniature golf

As well as being addicted to minigolf, we also run a museum dedicated to the world of Crazy Golf. We've got a lot of pencils in the archives. They've been an essential part of the game since it was invented in 1867.

Our obsession with miniature golf has also got us included in the Dull Men's Club 2017 Calendar. You can see us in the month of July.

The Dull Men's Club Calendar 2017

The Dull Men's Club is a place where dull men, and women who appreciate dull men, share thoughts and experiences about ordinary things

The Dull Men's Club 2017 calendar also features a cutlery sculptor, tombstone traveller, prefabricated buildings fan, lost glove spotter, a bubbleologist, giant pumpkin growers, a barbed wire enthusiast, a brown sign follower, village pump spotter, a vintage radio collector, and a couple who built a life-size railway station in their back garden.

Visit the Cumberland Pencil Museum website for more information.

The Golferholics Board Game

A new old golf-based board game.

The Golferholics Board Game
The Golferholics Board Game - an 18-hole Golf Game

On our recent minigolf meet-up in Dorridge my mate and BIG miniature golf enthusiast Paul 'Johnson Paul Johnson' Johnson gave me a Chad Valley Miniature Golf set from the 1960's. He also gave me a board game from the 1990's - The Golferholics Board Game.

The game was created and designed by A.L.E.M. in 1999.

Arnold Palmer Putting Courses Crazy Golf pencils

Receiving some Arnold Palmer Putting Courses pencils in the post.

I'm a big fan of Crazy Golf and I love collecting ephemera and merchandise from the game. Together Tim 'Ace Man' Davies and I have built up quite the collection of stuff. Among the items in The Crazy Golf Museum are a range of pens and pencils from courses around the world. While most Minigolf courses have plain pencils for players to mark the scores on their rounds, others have created branded ones.

After our recent visit to the excellent 18-hole Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course at Central Beach in Prestatyn, Wales I received a lovely gift in the post from the course owner. The two 'Arnold Palmer Putting Courses' pencils are very rare items indeed and only recently uncovered at the course.

The team at The Putting Penguin have also found some great pencils at miniature golf courses in the USA over the years.
