A rollercoaster minigolf journey!

Looking back at the crazy golf course at Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells, Skegness, Lincolnshire, England.

We've been to some weird and wonderful miniature golf courses in some crazy locations over the last 19 years.

One of the fun and intriguing places we had a game of minigolf was UNDERNEATH a rollercoaster at the Fantasy Island theme park in Ingoldmells, Skegness, Lincolnshire, England back in May 2011!

A lost minigolf course.

Sadly this particular crazy golf course is a lost course. Fantasy Island is now home to an 18-hole course called Lava Creek Adventure Golf. It's a course we need to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

At that point the 12-hole outdoor crazy golf course at the Fantasy Island theme park was the 240th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

We've now been to 1,099 courses overall in the last 19 years, with 1,038 of those locations in the British Isles.

Within the British Isles Emily and I have been to courses in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Jersey and the Isle of Man. We've also travelled to minigolf courses in twelve countries - Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Finland, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Spain (including Lanzarote and Majorca), Sweden and the USA.

Mini Golf at The Rock Shopping Centre in Bury

There's a pop-up mini golf course at The Rock Shopping Centre in Bury this August.

The Rock Shopping Centre in Bury, Greater Manchester is celebrating its 15th birthday this year, and to mark the occasion the shopping centre has a pop-up funfair set-up with a range of free-to-play games - one of which is mini golf.

New Crazy Golf at Infinite Air in Durham

A new crazy golf course is opening at Infinite Air in Durham.

The Infinite Air trampoline park in Durham is expanding its offering and will be opening a new crazy golf course along with an arcade as part of the venue's revamp after ten years in business.

The new 18-hole crazy golf course at Infinite Air in Durham will have a fairground-theme and is planned to open in October.

Birdie Barn Putting Range opening on Mersea Island in Essex

A new pop-up indoor minigolf venue is opening on Mersea Island in Essex this summer.

Birdie Barn Putting Range is opening at the West Mersea Marine Boatyard on Thursday 24th July.

Looking on the Birdie Barn Putting Range Facebook Page the course looks very different to your normal minigolf (if there's such a thing as 'normal' in crazy golf!).

Each of the holes looks to be is in it's own little enclosed bay, with putters tied to the range. Each of the holes has a themed obstacle such as pinball, skee ball, roulette, a ferris wheel, pong and more!

Coney Island Carnival Golf at Volcano Falls in Milton Keynes

Playing Volcano Falls Adventure Golf Coney Island Carnival Golf course in Milton Keynes.

Emily played the Coney Island Carnival Golf at Volcano Falls Adventure Golf at Xscape in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire earlier this month.

The course is one of three indoor courses at the venue along with the Tropicana Beach Club course and the Volcano Valley layout.

Coney Island Carnival Golf at Volcano Falls became the 576th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. It was the 1,034th visited when we swung by last October.

A new Funfair-themed Crazy Golf course is opening in Addlestone, Surrey.

The Simpsons Dodgems in Great Yarmouth

The Homer with no nose we saw in Great Yarmouth wasn't the only sighting of The Simpsons back in the summer of 2016. We also spotted the family on the dodgems.

The smallest miniature railway?

This train ride at Pensarn Pleasure Beach in Abergele could be a contender for the title of smallest miniature railway!

The train is half the length of the track!

A visit to Southport Pleasureland

Southport Pleasureland, the 'Happy Halloween Capital of the UK!'

We recently returned to Southport for the first time since September 2009 and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the Pleasureland theme park had reopened. Not only that, but it looked to be doing very well and they had really gone to town on the Halloween theming.

In fact they've gone so far as to declare themselves the 'Happy Halloween Capital of the UK!'

I don't think I have ever seen so many pumpkins in one place before. There are thousands of them there!

The pumpkins came in all shapes and sizes

Plenty of characters too

Some were ominously congregating

Others were on their own

There were clowns

'Sleeping' ones

And more traditional Jack-o'-lanterns

Unfortunately since our previous visit the Moroccan Adventure Golf course has been removed as the park has had extensive changes made. The area that was once home to the minigolf course is now a pathway. A shame really.

However, the rest of Pleasureland is great. We really enjoyed our wander round - especially the walk through the haunted maze.
