Our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
The Masters Putting Green in Southport was the 150th course we played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We've revisited the course in October and November 2016, January and October 2018, and September 2019.

Arnold Palmer Putting Courses.
Arnold Palmer Putting Courses are a design classic and include all the elements that make a Crazy Golf course great – the Windmill, the Waterwheel, an Obelisk, ledges, bunkers, traps, flat loops, hills and plateaus – everything laid out to make a course interesting, testing and most of all fun!
They're my favourite type of minigolf course and I've visited most of those that still remain in the UK.
The Arnold Palmer branded miniature golf courses were part of the Arnold Palmer Enterprises empire set-up in 1961 that saw the legendary golfer's name licensed and franchised to a wide-range of activities and products including Dry Cleaning centres and an Arnold Palmer brand foot detergent.
By 1966 there were 130 Arnold Palmer Putting Courses in the USA, with ten in Japan and some in South Africa.
Southport's Crazy Golf course lays claim to being the first Arnold Palmer Putting Course in the UK (there is also some information that a course in Coventry opened as the first in 1965 and was part of an Arnold Palmer Driving Range in the city). An Arnold Palmer Putting course was also located at a Driving Range in Sheffield.
A look at the old Moroccan Adventure Golf course at Pleasureland in Southport in 2009.
We visited Southport for the first time back in September 2009. It was the last Friday of the summer season but Pleasureland had closed down so we weren't able to play the Moroccan-themed Adventure Golf layout.
It's one of my favourite lost minigolf courses as it had a theme we hadn't seen before and haven't seen since.
Pleasureland Southport has undergone several changes in the years since we visited, and is now known as Adventure Coast Southport.
We haven't been to Southport for a few years, so the Viking Golf at Adventure Coast Southport will be a new one to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
A new Adventure Golf course is planned to open at Southport Pleasureland.
There are plans for a new Adventure Golf course to open at Southport Pleasureland.
The idea of a new course were first proposed last year and that layout was planned to have a dinosaur theme.
The new proposals will see a Viking-themed Adventure Golf course created alongside a Viking pub.
Southport is one of our local seasides and we've played minigolf there a number of times over the years.
We first visited Southport back in 2009. At that time the old Pleasure Land theme park had recently closed down and had been home to a Moroccan-themed Adventure Golf course.

We also visited The Masters Putting Green at King's Gardens while we were in Southport. The excellent 18-hole course was really really really busy so we didn't have time for a game. Here's a video of me scoring a hole-in-one there on a previous visit.
Dates for your minigolf diary 2021
Each year there are two minigolf days.
The first of the year is National Miniature Golf Day which is on the second Saturday in May. In 2021 that is Saturday 8th May.
The second, Miniature Golf Day, is always on the 21st September. In 2021 that will be a Tuesday.

Unfortunately since our previous visit the Moroccan Adventure Golf course had been removed as the park had received an extensive refurbishment. The area that was once home to the minigolf course had become a pathway.

We've really enjoyed our visits to Southport Pleasureland, especially around Halloween.

We first visited Southport back in 2009. At that time the old Pleasure Land theme park had recently closed down and therefore we were unable to play the Moroccan Adventure Golf course there.
The course was so busy this time that we didn't have time to queue up to play a round. We did however have a game on the Crazy Golf course at Southport's Botanic Gardens to celebrate Miniature Golf Day.
