Many thanks to our friend and minigolf rival (and sometimes team-mate) Kevin 'Max' Moseley for posting us a minigolf scorecard and pencil following his recent visit to Urban Putt in San Francisco, California.
It's always great to see and receive ephemera and collectibles from around the world. These are two fine additions to the Crazy Golf Museum's archives.
Check out the Urban Putt website for more information and to take a virtual tour of the indoor miniature golf course.

Mr Mulligan's Lost World Adventure Golf in Cheltenham
A visit to the new Mr Mulligan's Lost World Adventure Golf course in Cheltenham.
Playing a hole next to a volcano |
On Friday 6th October we headed to The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham to check out Mr Mulligan's two brand new 18-hole Lost World Golf courses.
There's some great theming throughout the 36-hole venue |
The layouts became the 784th and 785th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
First up was the 'Neptune's Mist' course and we were lucky enough to be the first people to play a round on it after the Mayor of Cheltenham had cut the red ribbon to officially open the course.
Playing the Canopy Creek course |
We had a great round on the huge course and it was nice to play with a group of novice players - who showed some real putting potential as we made our way round the twists and turns of the course.
A loop-di-loop obstacle I actually liked playing for a change! |
Emily set the clubhouse course record with her round of 42. The Neptune's Mist course has a par of 38 and Canopy Creek is a par-40 layout. After playing both I'd say Neptune's Mist should be a par-40 too as there are some very trick holes on the course and it's tough to score an ace. In fact our group of six players failed to score a single hole-in-one!
As close as you can get without scoring an ace |
The results from our round saw Emily in first place on 42, I was one shot back on 43 after scoring a four at the 18th. Ant was third on 49, Georgia was fourth on 51, Charlie was fifth with 56 and Lisa was sixth with a round of 60.
One of the spectators |
After a short break we picked up our putters and headed to the 'Canopy Creek' courses for our next game. Emily once again picked up the win - shooting 38 to my 41 - and this time scored three aces too!
Minigolf Adventurers at the 784th and 785th courses visited |
A skellington on the 18th |
Check out the Mr Mulligan's Lost World Golf Cheltenham website for more information, opening times and prices.
It was a fun ride through Mr Mulligan's Lost World |
As well as the Cheltenham location you can find Mr Mulligan's Adventure Golf courses in Castleford, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Woking, Sidcup, Tonbridge and Stevenage.
You'll see a few dinosaurs on your travels to Mr Mulligan Adventure Golf venues |

As a fan of fun business and marketing gimmicks I enjoyed spotting Mr D's Magnificent Pie Machine at Cheltenham Market last week. The steampunk inspired stall is certainly eye-catching.

Minigolf Tour 2017
New Minigolf Competition Tour launched in Portugal.
The team at Minigolfe.pt have got in touch to let me know about a new tournament series - the Minigolf Tour 2017. The competition begins later this month and will take place over three stages in October, November and January.
Aimed at those seeking new minigolf challenges, the tournament aims to extend the competitive side of the sport to all fans of minigolf. The Minigolf Tour 2017 will start on the last weekend of October, with the first of three stages to be played at the Minigolf course of the “União Desportiva Praiense” in the Azores on the 28th and 29th.
The second stage will be held in Family Golf Park in Vilamoura on the 11th and 12th November, and the third and final stage will take place in Costa Nova on the 6th and 7th January 2018.
Each event consists of six rounds - three rounds will be played on Saturday afternoon, and three on Sunday morning. Each stage will be played using the strokeplay system. At the end of each stage, the winners will be awarded with medals.
After each stage the players will be scored according to their result. These scores count towards the General Ranking that is calculated by the sum total of points from the three stages.
Entries for the Minigolf Tour 2017 are already open. Each of the stages has a registration fee of €10. It is not mandatory to play all three stages. More information about the Minigolf Tour 2017 can be found on the Minigolfe.pt website.
Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances the second stage will be not be held in Lagos, Algarve, on the 25th and 26th. Instead the second stage will be held at the Family Golf Park in Vilamoura on the 11th and 12th November.
Minigolfe.pt is an online minigolf magazine and official partner of the “Hole in 1 Challenge 2017” and is dedicated to promoting the sport of minigolf in Portugal. Minigolfe.pt has the largest database of places where you can play minigolf in Portugal.

We're now up to 791 course visits on our travels since September 2006! It's crazy to think that we're so close to the BIG 800th course visit. Where will it be...?
We've now visited 791 miniature golf courses. 763 of them have been in the UK, with 28 overseas |

Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf in Rhyl
Revisit to the Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course in Rhyl.
On our holiday in North Wales we revisited the Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course at Rhyl Family Fun Fair. As it was out of season the course was closed. It looked in good condition though.
It was closed |
Another course revisited on our travels |
Hole 1 |
Hole 2 |
We first visited and played the course on our road-trip around the coast of Wales back in the summer of 2009. Back then it became the 146th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We also visited the course in September 2014.
I wonder what's under the green sheet? |
On both previous visits I hadn't noticed what the castle was made out of - it took Emily to point it out! Me and my wide-eyed wonder eh!
What a great use of a shipping container! |

I'm not sure the image in the painting next to the lifts at the Cheltenham Holiday Inn Express inspires confidence!

Crazy Golf at Drift Park in Rhyl
Revisit to the Crazy Golf course at Drift Park in Rhyl.
On our recent holiday in North Wales we revisited the Crazy Golf course at Drift Park in Rhyl. As we were there on a Monday and it was out of season it wasn't a surprise to find the course was closed. It appeared to be in good condition though.
We played the course on our road-trip around the coast of Wales back in the summer of 2009. Back then it became the 145th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We also visited the course in September 2014.

Crazy Golf at Pontin's Prestatyn Sands Holiday Camp
A revisit to the Crazy Golf course at Pontin's Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park.
The ten-hole Crazy Golf course at Pontin's Prestatyn Sands holiday park |
On our Holiday on the Buses at Pontin's Prestatyn Sands we revisited the 10-hole Crazy Golf course at the camp. It's had a lick of paint, some new felt and a change in some of the obstacles since we played the layout in 2014.
The castle / fort's walls are a lot more colourful than before |
The course was the 348th played and 582nd visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
