The course was the 146th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in 2009. 

The last time either of us were in Rhyl was when I had a day out there in September 2019! Crazy to think as it's one of our most local seaside resorts.

A new Mini Golf course has opened at Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar, Wales.

Many thanks to my friend, minigolf rival and fellow crazy golf enthusiast Martyn Williams of the Welsh Minigolf Club for letting me know about a brand new Mini Golf course that recently opened at Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar.

It looks like an ace layout and Martyn tells me it plays very nicely indeed.

It's another course for us to visit when our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour returns to Wales.

Dragon Classic minigolf tournament at Fontygary Leisure Park

Details of the Welsh Minigolf Club's Dragon Classic competition at Fontygary Leisure Park in Barry.

The Dragon can be found on holes 2 and 18 of the Fontygary Leisure Park course

The first mid-pandemic socially distanced minigolf tournament in the UK is taking place on Sunday 26th July.

Organised by the Welsh Minigolf Club the 2020 Dragon Classic will be held on the Dragon's Quest Mini Golf course at Fontygary Leisure Park in Rhoose, Barry.

Entry is limited to 18 players and more information can be found on the Welsh Minigolf Club's website and Facebook page.

Good luck to all of the players in the event.

Playing the course

I played the 18-hole Dragon's Quest Mini Golf course at Fontygary Leisure Park during my trip to compete in the Welsh Double's Championship in May last year.

There are some superb views from Fontygary Leisure Park and it's well worth a visit

Other tournaments

The last minigolf tournament held in the UK before lockdown was the 19th edition of the Planet Hastings Crazy Golf Open held on the 1st March. The Thanet Open had been held in Margate, Kent on 9th February.

A look at the miniature golf courses in Rhyl.

We've been visiting the seaside town of Rhyl in Wales since September 2009 and have been to a number of minigolf courses there.

There are a mix of miniature golf options in Rhyl, with everything from Crazy Golf to Grass Putting to Adventure Golf. There's also a new indoor minigolf course in an amusement arcade.

Last week I swung by the Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course in Rhyl, Wales.

We first played the course on our trip around the coast of Wales in the summer of 2009. Back then it became the 146th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

We revisited the course in September 2014, September 2017 and January 2018.

Last January we swung by the Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course at the Rhyl Family Fun Fair on the promenade.

We first visited and played the course on our road-trip around the coast of Wales back in the summer of 2009. Back then it became the 146th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Revisit to the Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course in Rhyl.

On our holiday in North Wales we revisited the Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course at Rhyl Family Fun Fair. As it was out of season the course was closed. It looked in good condition though.

On both previous visits I hadn't noticed what the castle was made out of - it took Emily to point it out! Me and my wide-eyed wonder eh!

A revisit to the Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course in Rhyl, Wales.

Outside the Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course in Rhyl

Back in August 2009 we visited and played the 12-hole Welsh Dragon Adventure Golf course on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour visit to Wales.

During our holiday in nearby Prestatyn we made a revisit to the course, although as it was an 'out of season' Monday the course was closed. When we'd driven passed the course on the Saturday it had been open and looked nice and busy.
