Finding some of the Space Invader street art in Paris.

Emily was in Paris last month and while there managed to spot a few Invader street art pieces while walking around.

Invader around the world.

To date the French street artist Invader has created 4,382 Invaders in 87 territories around the world!

Invader was here - in the UK.

Here in the UK Invader has invaded Manchester, London and Newcastle (and a bit of Gateshead) and we've managed to find a few of his pieces on trips to the cities.

"Galeries Fleuries" translates as "Flowery Galleries" and the area was a popular attraction in the 1920s and 1930s.

The reverse of each of the postcards call the game 'Le Golf miniature'. Neither have been posted and are undated.

Looking online there are four minigolf courses in the Stella-Plage area:

• Mini Golf Merlimont
• Mini-Golf du Touquet - this looks like it could be the location on the postcards.
• House of Free Time
• Mini-Golf, Berck

It's interesting to see that this course was built on the beach/in the sand dunes.

Looking online, it looks to be a long lost minigolf course. However, you can find a course in the seaside town at LE SOFT mini golf et restaurant on Rue du Golf!

Looking online, there is a minigolf course - Mini-golf du parc des Douits - in Barneville-Carteret that could be the location of the course on the postcard. Both are in wooded areas.

Looking online Golf Miniature Cabourg is still open - and still recognisable today. Amazing to see the past and the present of a course.

Le Mini Golf at Bar du Lac in Pierrefonds, France

A look at Le Mini Golf at Bar du Lac in Pierrefonds, France.

Le Mini Golf

Christopher Gottfried has struck minigolf gold again as he found another miniature golf course on his way home from holiday in Germany and France.

Christopher tells me that the castle you can see on the Mini Golf course is a miniature version of Château de Pierrefonds.

Christopher has now been to 30 courses in the UK and nine overseas countries. Prior to visiting Le Mini Golf at Bar du Lac in Pierrefonds the last course he visited was at Adventuregolf Gutach in Germany.

Emily and I have been to eight of those 30 too. We have visited 884 courses in the British Isles and 39 courses in eleven overseas countries for a total of 923 course visits. The combined total of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour is now up to 945 courses since September 2006.

Minigolf in Paris

We've played two Paris-themed minigolf holes this year - one at the Riverside Bowl's Glo-Golf course and one on the Landmark Golf layout at Wolsingham Sports Hall.

Mini Golf in Civray, France

A look at the Mini Golf course in Civray, France.

Many thanks to Thomas at Boîte de Timbres for sending me over these snaps of the municipal 12-hole miniature golf course near his stamp shop in Civray, France.

Thomas has suggested that we do a mini-tour of the free municipal miniature golf courses in France. It does sound like fun.

My brother Christopher spotted a minigolf course in Lac de la Cavayère on his travels last year. That course is only open in July and August!

Before moving to France Thomas had a stamp and postcard shop in Letchworth Garden City where I found many brilliant minigolf postcards for my collection.

Crazy Goats!

During the off-season goats are kept on the course to keep the growth down over the winter. The course is the site of a holiday camp on the shores of a lake that opens for the summer.

Before moving to France Thomas had a stamp and postcard shop in Letchworth Garden City where I found many marvellous minigolf postcards for my collection.

Minigolf in Carcassonne - Lac de la Cavayère

A look at the minigolf course in Lac de la Cavayère, France.

Charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher Gottfried has been off on his travels in continental Europe again and this time has come up trumps in finding a minigolf course at Lac de la Cavayère.

However, the course is only open in July and August!

Christopher remarked that the place seems to combine my love of mini golf and park benches... one for every hole it seems!

What a lovely spot it'd be to have a sit down

There do certainly seem to be ample facilities for sitting

A couple of days ago Christopher was in Sète and spotted Mini Golf listed on this map (C1), however it's been turned into a skatepark.

C1 is now a skatepark

Earlier this month Christopher ticked off a few more minigolf course visits in Europe during a cycling trip in the Mosel Valley in Luxembourg and Germany.
