Crazy Golf in Church Stretton, Shropshire

A look back at our visit to the crazy golf course in Church Stretton, Shropshire.

We visited Church Stretton while en route to Wales in August 2019. While there we swung by the 9-hole crazy golf course in the main town park.

The 9-hole course was the 913th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

It looked like an interesting layout and one we'd liked to have played if it was open.

It appeared to be a mixture of 'Eternit' miniature golf and 'Beton' concrete styles, types more commonly found in continental Europe.

Crazy Golf in Selby Park

There are plans for a new crazy golf course in Selby Park, Selby, North Yorkshire.

A new 9-hole crazy golf course is planned to replace the old mini golf course in Selby Park, Selby as part of a project to improve the park.

Cherry Blossoms and Spring

It's so nice to see the Cherry Blossoms in bloom.

We're looking forward to seeing more while they last. And then spending as much time as possible out and about in the (hopefully) nice sunny summer weather this year.

We first found the miniature railway at Meriton Road Park in Handforth back in April 2021. Here are some snaps from a visit in April this year.

Nearby miniature railways

Handforth is in Cheshire East and borders the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport. The borough is home to three miniature railways - at South Park in Cheadle Hulme, Brookside Miniature Railway at the Garden Centre in Poynton and the Dragon Miniature Railway at the Garden Centre in Marple.

Abandoned Crazy Golf in Victoria Park, Glasgow

A look back at a derelict minigolf course at Victoria Park in Glasgow, Scotland.

We visited Glasgow back in May 2009 and one of the courses we found there was this abandoned 18-hole outdoor Crazy Golf course in Victoria Park.

Even 16 years on it's still one of the strangest courses we've seen on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

The course was in a distinctive amphitheatre layout and is laid out in a fair bit of space.

Looking for further information about the course doesn't reveal too much more information. It was built in the 1970's but has been derelict since the 1980's!
