Crazy Snooker Pool Billiards Golf and Pit-Pat

A look at some of the stranger miniature golf and cue-sports crossover games we've played.

On our travels we've seen quite a few variations of hybrid minigolf / golf / pool / snooker / billiards games including Crazy Golf Pool and Pit-Pat, as well as some Crazy Golf obstacles that have used pool and snooker tables.

In October last year we played Crazy Golf Pool at Krazy Golf Lydney in the Forest of Dean

I first saw the game of Pit-Pat (obstacle billiards) in Vienna, Austria in 2010 - it's like Crazy Golf but played with cues

There's a new indoor Pit-Pat venue opening at The Floodgate in Digbeth, Birmingham this year.

Putting Green in Gorleston-on-Sea

A look back at Gorleston Putting Green in Norfolk.

Back in May 2009 we visited Gorleston-on-Sea in Norfolk for the first time and swung by the Putting Green on the seafront.

When we returned to the seaside town in June 2010 we were able to play the nearby Pops Meadow Putting Green but didn't have time to revisit the Putting Green.

There was also a sign for the Bure Park Pitch & Putt at the Putting Green. That's a course we've got to check out the next time we're in the area.

Halloween in the USA - Part III

A look at some awesome Halloween decorations from the USA.

Emily was recently in the US and while there spotted some great inflatable Halloween decorations at Home Depot.

There are now only 13 days to Halloween!

Unfortunately there wasn't enough room in her luggage to bring any back to decorate our house with.

I did however get some packs of the new Garbage Pail Kids Halloween-themed Revenge of Oh the Horror-ible trading cards!

Happy 18th October

A look back at minigolf courses played on this day.

I've managed to play a few different minigolf courses on the 18th October in previous years.

On Thursday 18th October 2012 I played an intriguing Mini-Golf course that had been set-up in Covent Garden in London by the golf and knitwear brand Lyle & Scott as part of Wool Week. The course was the 307th played and 511th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

On Friday 18th October 2013 I visited the 12-hole Putt in the Park Minigolf course at Wandsworth Park in London for a ‘friendly’ round of Crazy Golf against friends and minigolf rivals Gareth Holmes, Alan Norman and Paul O'Connor. The course was the 323rd played and 538th visited on our travels.

On Saturday 18th October 2014 we headed to Mead Open Farm in Billington, Bedfordshire for a morning of fun on the farm. And some Crazy Golf. The course was the 350th we've played and 584th visited on our tour.

On Thursday 18th October 2016 I was in Telford so had a look at the Adventure Golf course at Telford Town Park. Unfortunately it wasn't open so I didn't get a game. The course was the 716th visited.

We've now visited 925 miniature golf courses since September 2006.

Fingers crossed I'll get another round in today.

Putting Course at Hermitage Recreation Ground in Coalville

In June 2008 we took a road-trip to Northallerton. Our first stop was at the then new UrbanCrazy Minigolf course at Hermitage Recreation Ground in Coalville, Leicestershire.

As well as the new minigolf course there was a Putting Course there too.

The recreation ground is also home to a miniature railway.

Globalls Mini Golf in Brighton

A look at the colourful Globalls Crazy Golf courses in Brighton.

Many thanks to my friend and minigolf rival Stephen Skinner of the Welsh Minigolf Club for sending over these superb snaps from he and his wife Laura's visit to the Globalls Crazy Golf course in Brighton.

It's a course Emily and I have wanted to play on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour for a while. It opened up after our last visit to the seaside town. We're hoping to get back down there again next year.

Globalls is home to two 12-hole indoor glow-in-the-dark minigolf courses. One has a dinosaur theme while the other has a jungle theme.

The team at Globalls love Halloween and each year decorate the courses accordingly.

 

  

I'm a big fan of UV Glow-in-the-Dark miniature golf courses and it's lovely to see how bright and colourful Globalls is. The scary obstacles and decorations look really smart too.

Pitch & Putt at Appley Park in Ryde, Isle of Wight

Looking for, but not finding, the Pitch & Putt course at Appley Park in Ryde.

Back in October 2016 we revisited the Isle of Wight on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Our first stop was to the seaside town of Ryde where we had a look at the out of season Pirate Adventure Golf course at Peter Pan's Funfair and Amusements on the Esplanade.

We then headed towards Puckpool Park to play the Crazy Golf course there.

En route we passed through Appley Park and saw a sign for a Pitch & Putt course. However we couldn't find it.

In May 2017 we called in at the Norwich Family Golf Centre to visit the Congo Rapids Adventure Golf course.

Unfortunately on the day of our visit the course was too wet to play.

Norwich Family Golf Centre is also home to a Putting Green.

Pitch & Putt Golf at the Lea Marston Hotel in Sutton Coldfield

A look at the Pitch & Putt course at the Lea Marston Hotel.

Back in September 2017 we stayed at the Lea Marston Hotel in Sutton Coldfield. The hotel had an on-site Pitch & Putt course.

Crazy Golf at Birchington Vale Holiday Park

A look at the Crazy Golf course at Birchington Vale Holiday Park in Kent.

A BIG thank you to our friend, minigolf rival and fellow Crazy Golf adventurer Matt Dodd for sending over some snaps from his visit to the Crazy Golf course at Birchington Vale Holiday Park in Kent.

The course is another where each of the holes is in the shape of a letter and the finished result spells out Crazy Golf. It certainly looks neat on the satellite image of the holiday park.
