Minigolf in Greater Manchester

A look at miniature golf courses in Greater Manchester.

There are a lot of options for minigolfing in Greater Manchester, with a variety of courses to play, ranging from traditional crazy golf to indoor minigolf to new adventure golf layouts.

We've been travelling to play minigolf in Manchester since 2009 when I won the Mini Masters and Mini Open at the Trafford Golf Centre. I also won the Chrizy Golf Masters at Piccadilly Place in 2012. We moved to Stockport in 2016 and have continued to compete in events. Emily is the reigning Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open champion, while I won the tournament in 2018. I also won the DinoFalls Masters at the Trafford Golf Centre last year.

Dino Falls at Trafford Golf Centre - the second 18-hole Adventure Golf course is currently under construction.

Puttstars at Rochdale Riverside - three minigolf courses will be a part of the new indoor venue when it opens in April 2020.

Other courses in Greater Manchester:

Over the years we've played a number of other minigolf courses in Manchester on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. Some have been portable courses, while others have been temporary or pop-up locations.

There's also a grass Putting course at Park Square in Cheadle Heath, Stockport. This private Putting Green is for use by tenants and employees at the office complex. It's actually our closest course, but one we're not allowed to play.

Torre Abbey Pitch 'n' Putt course in Torquay

A look back at our visit to the Torre Abbey Pitch 'n' Putt course in Torquay, Devon.

On our summer holiday around the South West of England back in 2015 we visited 62 miniature golf courses on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

One of those courses was the Torre Abbey Pitch 'n' Putt course in Torquay, Devon.

The course was the 623rd visited on our travels.

Squeezing 62 course visits into two-weeks was a BIG task and it wasn't possible to stop at, or play all of the Mini, Crazy and Adventure Golf courses, or all the Putting Greens and Pitch & Putts we saw on the trip, or those we'd heard about beforehand.

MiniLinks Mini Open 2019 in Lytham Saint Annes

The team at MiniLinks Golf organise a number of competitions throughout the year, including four Mini Majors.

During our recent trip to Scarborough, North Yorkshire we stayed at a hotel right next to the excellent Peasholm Park, a stone's throw from the Pitch & Putt course, and a short walk from the Putting Green.

We're looking forward to a return visit to Scarborough in the future.

Pitch & Putt Mini Golf at Peasholm Park in Scarborough

A visit to the Pitch & Putt Mini Golf course at at Peasholm Park in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

During our recent trip to Scarborough we stayed at a hotel right next to the superb Peasholm Park, a stone's throw from the Pitch & Putt Mini Golf course.

We've just returned from a superb weekend away at the seaside in Scarborough where we visited seven minigolf courses - including our 900th!

Scarborough's two bays have got a lot of choice for fans of minigolf, with a nice mix of Crazy Golf, Putting Greens, a Pitch & Putt course and a pair of Adventure Golf courses.

We bad a brilliant time in the seaside resort and highly recommend a visit.

Playing at the excellent Holbeck Putting Green. There's been a course on the tranquil site since 1925

Seven weeks ago we had visited 861 courses, but following trips to East Anglia, the South Coast, South Wales and the North West coast we've now visited 901 courses on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

This year marks the 13th year of our travels. Back in September 2006 we played our first course at Treasure Island Adventure Golf in Southsea. Back then there were around 600 courses in the UK - that number has grown considerably since then and the game is experiencing a real boom.

We've now visited 901 courses, 862 of which have been in the British Isles.

The next step of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and the journey to 1,000 courses started at the Holbeck Putting Green on Sunday

Mini Golf at Onchan Pleasure Park on the Isle of Man

Last summer we had a holiday on the Isle of Man and visited five more courses on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. One of which was the Mini Golf (Pitch & Putt) course at Onchan Pleasure Park.

The 18-hole grass Miniature Golf course at Onchan Pleasure Park became the 826th visited and 489th played.

Hole 13 was an interesting one - it was the first time we'd seen a right angle hole on a Pitch & Putt course!

During our round I managed to score my first ever hole-in-one on a Pitch & Putt course. It came on hole 4.

Onchan Pleasure Park is also home to a 9-hole Crazy Golf course. That layout became the 825th visited and 490th played on our travels.
