Toys R Us in Ipswich

A look at the old Toys R Us store in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Many thanks to my sister-in-law Annette for sending over a snap of the closed Toys R Us store in the Interchange Retail Park at Copdock Mill, Ipswich.

This sign is still up. But for how much longer?

Sadly Toys R Us closed in the UK in April 2018. Luckily there are still remnants of the brand on some retail parks in the UK. I worked in the Gipsy Lane store in Luton, Bedfordshire back in the year 2000.

Check out the blog posts below about other former Toys R Us stores:

Bell's Scotch Whisky token from a Scottish Open Golf tournament

Many thanks to my sister-in-law Annette who gave me this brilliant Bell's Scotch Whisky token from a Scottish Open Golf tournament. It's a great addition to my collection of tokens.

One side contains a message to the bearer, the other to the licensee.

What a bargain.

There's also no year on the token. I wonder if it's still valid?

Irregular Mini Golf Tour Match at Mannings Magical Golf FX in Felixstowe, Suffolk

The second of the two remaining minigolf courses in Felixstowe, Suffolk left to play was at Mannings Amusements, where there is a 13-hole Magical Golf FX Indoor Adventure Golf Course.

In our Irregular Mini Golf Tour Match Ipswich's Bethany Harper picked up the victory with a score of 42, one-shot ahead of Rob Harper, and three-shots clear of me and Emily! A very well deserved victory indeed.

The course was originally the 5th we ever played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

Minigolf in Felixstowe - Fantasia Golf - Plus Irregular Mini Golf Tour Result

On Saturday 7th May 2011 we headed to Felixstowe in Suffolk for a nice day out beside the sea, and to replay the two Minigolf courses there.

First up was the 9-hole Fantasia Golf 'Adventure Golf' course. The course was the 7th course we ever played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

In the four-player Irregular Mini Golf Tour event at the course new Irregular Mini Golf Tour member Karl Moles from Ipswich became a winner on his debut, with a well deserved one-shot victory over wily veteran - me! Ipswich's Annette Harper was third, with Kallum Harper fourth.

An excellent little 9-hole course with some tricky holes. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
