A look back at our visit to the Treasure Island Adventure Golf course at Wonderland Telford.
We visited the 500th course on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour while en route to Oswestry on Friday 13th July 2012.
It was memorable for a number of reasons. As well as being a landmark course visit we clearly remember how bad the weather was on that day. It was tipping it down! We were the only people brave (foolish) enough to play the course. It was also one of the most unique layouts we've played as each of the holes had a different playing surface. Some were concrete, others had felt, others were wooden and some were a mixture!
Watering Hole was an incredibly appropriate name for this hole!
The obstacle and shape of this hole reminded us of some Swedish Felt Mini Golf courses. Except it had metal rails and a concrete base!
That's a huge obstacle in the way!
Pitching my putt
You wouldn't want to over hit your shot into the end of this hole
The Treasure Island Adventure Golf course at Wonderland Telford became the 300th course we managed to play on our travels.
Emily won our minigolf match-up on the 9-hole course with a score of 29 to my round of 30.

Quite the follow-through on my shot
We've now been to 949 courses since September 2006.
The course was of the 'Eternit' type of Miniature Golf - with the addition of felt to the playing surface and a few non-standard hole types and obstacles.
The pirate-theming around the site was very well done and the striking blue of the felt on the course made a nice contrast with the green felt flooring surrounding it.

You can find the course on Rhos Promenade
We began our holiday in North Wales at Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea on Miniature Golf Day. To celebrate the occasion we teed-off on the Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach pub and restaurant in Rhos on Sea.

Nice to see a windmill on the course
The Crazy Golf at the Rhos Fynach in Rhos on Sea became the 462nd played and 781st visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
The green of the windmill hole has a plateau on it too
In our match-up on the 9-hole course I won with a score of 31 to Emily's 34.

Hole 3 - The Squid - is one of two holes on the course that has a choice of cups to aim for. A 'Kids' and an 'Adults' version - both were pretty tough!

Always nice to see some Crazy Golf advertising
The course has an excellent scorecard with a nice map of the layout.
The course map is a neat touch
The results of our round
Check out the Rhos Fynach website for more information, opening times and prices.
It had been open when I first arrived. While the Galleria is open from 10am to 8pm on weekdays, the Pirate Adventure Golf course is only open 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays. Looking on the website it does state that the last entry is 30 minutes before closing.
There's a big shark on the course

The result of our contest was put down as a no-score draw.
Me and Rowdy Russell were unable to have a minigolf battle on the course
The layout looks impressive in its location in Queen's Court at thecentre:MK.

The centre-piece of the vividly coloured, well laid out and fun looking course is a 20ft moving Octopus!

Emily on hole 6
The pirate theming around the site is really well done and the striking blue of the felt on the course makes a nice contrast with the green felt flooring.
Putting in the wake of the Kraken!
It makes for a pleasing playing environment - even if the course is very tricky, with some tough second (and third) putts.
Emily lining up a second shot
In our match-up Emily, the Eternit Miniaturegolf specialist (and British Women's Record Holder on the surface), beat me by one-shot with a result of 33 to 34.

Both scores were good enough to get us on the course Leader Board too.

The course costs £4.50 a round for adults and the second round on the same day is half price. I took advantage of this and had another round after we'd had a bit of a shop around thecentre:MK.
In the stocks
The Pirate Mini Golf course will be in thecentre:MK until the 29th of August 2014 and is open seven days a week. It's an interesting layout, has friendly staff and is worth a play.
