Minigolf in Nittel, Germany

A look for the Minigolf course in Nittel, Germany.

Cheers go to my brother, and Charter Member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour, Christopher Gottfried for sending along this photo of a sign for the Minigolf course in Nittel, Germany.

There was no sign of the Minigolf course or Bürgerhaus in Nittel, Luxembourg
What a lot of signs

In typical Crazy World of Minigolf Tour fashion he went searching for the Minigolf and the Bürgerhaus, but couldn't find either.

GlowGolf Amsterdam

A look inside the GlowGolf indoor minigolf course in Amsterdam.

My brother and Charter Member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher was recently on a Stag Do in Amsterdam and ended up finding and playing the GlowGolf indoor minigolf course there.

The course has a Time Travel theme

We're big fans of glow in the dark indoor minigolf courses and the 15-hole course looks brilliant and very well themed.

Explosive!

Christopher tells me the competition for the Amsterdam Open Championship title was intense and while regular golfer Curtis Allen was leading for much of the contest he fluffed one hole to gift the lead to Rob Marson and Christopher. It ended going to the last hole and Rob picked up the win and 1 Euro in prize money by managing to get his ball in the side of the final hole that scored a 1, while Christopher's ball went the other way to score a 2.

Ten years ago today

A look back at the 10th course played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Ten years ago today we visited the 10th course on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. On a bitterly cold 23rd December 2006 Emily, Christopher and I headed along to the Horse and Harrow Pub in West Hagbourne, Oxfordshire to have a game on their beer garden Crazy Golf course.

Emily putting away as Christopher thinks 'What on Earth are we doing?'

What a course it was - we'd not seen anything like it before. And we haven't seen anything quite like it since!

We revisited the course in April 2011.

Back in 2006 we never realised quite how BIG the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour would become. To date we've visited 720 courses!

Y indeed!

I'm not sure if the Crazy Golf course is still at the pub. There's no mention of it on the pub's website and the last Google Street View image of the location is from April 2011 too. We'll have to swing by next time we're in the Abingdon / Didcot area...

Adventure Island Golf in Mundesley, Norfolk

Back in May 2014 Charter Member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher Gottfried let us know about the Adventure Golf course in Mundesley, Norfolk.

Adventure Island Golf in Mundesley

Last week we finally got to visit and play the course.

Playing another brilliant course on our travels

The layout became the 406th played and 692nd visited overall on our tour.

It's a lovely setting for a game

Adventure Island Golf is a great 12-hole course, with plenty of tricky obstacles and some very nice theming. And for a 12-hole course there were certainly a lot of themes going on! With Pirates, Cannibals, Dinosaurs, Jungles and more.

Beyond the Dolmen...

...sat a miniature frog (or toad)

The 11th and 12th were tricky indeed

The island that gave the Adventure Golf course its name

A crocodile (or alligator) lurking

Some Easter Island heads

An alligator (or crocodile) lurks in the tar pit

Stuck in the ditch

Goading an obstacle

A lovely bit of derelict theming

I got to meet tiger too

It reminded us of the courses at Hemsby and Felixstowe - two of our favourites - and even though reading the greens at Mundesley could be tough, it was good fun.

Emily playing another great tee shot

In our match-up Emily won with a 34 to my 37 - getting off to a flying start with a great hole-in-one on the first.

Putting past some dino eggs

A round of minigolf at the course costs £3.50 for adults and it's worth a play.

On the last hole

Crazy Golf at Pop's Meadow in Gorleston-on-Sea

A look at the Crazy Golf course at 'Pop's Meadow Putting Green' in Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk.

The rocket ship has received a paint job since our visit in 2010

Founding member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher Gottfried was recently passing through Gorleston-on-Sea in Norfolk and took a couple of snaps of the Crazy Golf course at the Gorleston Fun Park aka Pop's Meadow.

Sadly the course was closed on Christopher's visit

The 9-hole course was the 173rd we played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour in June 2010 - it had been the landmark 100th course visited back in May 2009.

How the course looked in 2009

How the area got its name

Emily playing the layout in 2010

Even with the addition of a variety of obstacles over the years - and the lack of felt/carpet - the course is still recognisable as an Arnold Palmer Putting Course. A cracking type of layout and well worth a play.

The course had a classic windmill obstacle on it when we played there in 2010

The Pop's Meadow course is one of many that Christopher has visited and found to be closed. Check out the links below for more details of the courses he has visited since 2011.

Clown on a Moped

What better way to celebrate my brother Christopher's 30th birthday than with a surprise party in Worthing. And a Clown on a Moped!

Tommy Tickle's guest appearance at Christopher's surprise birthday party went down a treat

Christopher is a charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and on our travels we've putted through some clown's mouth obstacles.

The Clown obstacle at Luton's now demolished Wardown Park Crazy Golf course. One of the first we played on our tour

The Crazy World of Minigolf Tour began at the Treasure Island Adventure Golf course in Southsea in September 2006. The town is home to a number of other miniature golf courses, including this one on Southsea Common

Check out Tommy Tickle's Clown on a Moped website, YouTube Channel, and give him a like and a follow on Facebook and Twitter. He was brilliant entertainment - even two of three coulrophobes at the party enjoyed his act!

Brighton-based Tommy Tickle - the world's number one Clown on a Moped. Available for all sorts of functions

Tommy Tickle appeared in the brilliant BBC documentary Clowns, it's well worth a watch.
