Emily recently visited Boom Battle Bar in Bournemouth with some work colleagues for a social do, and saw Crazier Nolf there. A first for the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Crazier Golf and Crazier Nolf at Boom Battle Bars

There are currently 29 Boom Battle Bars in the UK! Each of them offers a range of games, with most (23) home to a Crazier Golf layout at the venue. Other games include shuffleboard, augmented reality darts, axe throwing and more.

Emily spotted the Boom Battle Bar in Coventry on a trip to the city back in January. The indoor competitive socialising venue is home to a Crazier Golf course.

Boom Battle Bar in Southend

A new Boom Battle Bar venue is opening in Southend, Essex this year.

Boom Battle Bar will soon have a location at the Victoria Shopping Centre in Southend on Sea, Essex.

The venue will be home to a crazy golf course, as well as games such as shuffleboard and beer pong.

Boom Battle Bar Southend is due to open in October 2023.

Boom Battle Bar opening at Stevenage Leisure Park

A new Boom Battle Bar is opening at Stevenage Leisure Park in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

The venue will be home to crazy golf, axe throwing, shuffleboard and more. It's due to open in December.

Boom: Battle Bar in Bath

A new Boom: Battle Bar is planned to open in Bath, Somerset this year.

The competitive socialising venue will be home to a number of indoor games including minigolf, axe throwing and beer pong.

There are currently 12 Boom: Battle Bars in the UK, with a further 11 opening soon.

Mini-Golf at a new Boom: Battle Bar in Exeter

A new Boom: Battle Bar is opening in Exeter city centre and will include a mini-golf course.

The indoor competitive socialising venue is opening at the Exeter Guildhall Shopping Centre.

We've played Crazier Golf at the first Boom: Battle Bar in Norwich.

The Exeter course will be another new venue for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Boom: Battle Bar opening in Ipswich

A new Boom: Battle Bar will open in Ipswich, Suffolk.

The new Boom: Battle Bar planned for the Buttermarket in Ipswich has been given the green light and is scheduled to open in February 2022.

The new competitive socialising venue in the town centre will be home to minigolf, shuffleboard, beer pong, axe throwing and more.

It'll be another new course for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour when we're next back in Emily's home town.

There are plans for lots of new Boom: Battle Bar indoor entertainment venues to open in the coming months.

Boom: Battle Bar

Miniature Golf is a big part of the retailtainment boom, with courses opening as standalone entertainment activities, or as part of large shoppingtainment leisure offerings in shopping centres, malls, high streets and retail parks.

Visiting Boom: Battle Bar in Norwich

We stayed in Norwich for part of our East Anglian road-trip last month and the second miniature golf course we played was the Crazier Golf layout at the first Boom: Battle Bar location in the Castle Quarter shopping and entertainment venue in the city centre.

The 9-hole course differs from 'standard' crazy golf courses as not all of the holes require the use of your putter and ball! Some of the obstacles require you to pump the ball, or launch it, via another mechanism. There's also a timed hole which is fun to play.

Our match-up was close and I picked up the win by one-shot with a 23-24 scoreline. Working out the scores was interesting as the holes don't necessarily have a stroke score - on the 4th I took 37:42 to play out the hole, while Emily took 46:08. On the 7th and 9th we had to race each other to figure out our points score!

The Crazier Golf course at Boom: Battle Bar in Norwich was the 970th course Emily and I visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. Combining the courses we've visited with those that my brother Christopher - a founding member of the tour - has too it was the 1,000th course we've been to overall!
