A gluten free burger in a gluten free brioche-style bun!
We're always on the lookout for new and interesting gluten free food and we made a great discovery at Waitrose in Lutterworth, Leicestershire at the weekend when we spotted the packs of brioche style buns made by Just: Gluten Free Bakery!
What a find! |
For dinner tonight we cooked up some gluten free burgers from the Co-Operative and put them in the brioche buns. They were delicious.
A fine burger, topped with bacon and cheese and stuffed in a nice brioche style bun. The free from Onion Rings from Tesco were great too. Note the healthy items on the plate |

Mini Golf at Rutland Water Visitor Centre
A round of Mini Golf at Rutland Water.
On Friday 8 May 2015 we went to Rutland Water to play the 12-hole Mini Golf course at the Visitor Centre.
The course was the 597th visited and 361st played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour since September 2006.
It's a great layout with some good hole-in-one opportunities and nice obstacles including a big loop-di-loop.
Emily won our contest, shooting a 27 to my 29 in round one, followed by a 27 to my 25 in round two. We both had four aces across the two games.
The Mini Golf course is located at the Rutland Water Visitor Centre on Sykes Lane, Empingham, Rutland, Leicestershire, LE15 8QL.
For more information, opening times and prices please visit the Rutland Water website.
We enjoyed our visit to Rutland Water and would go back. It's a pleasant spot and a very good Crazy Golf course.

Congo River Adventure Golf at Blaby Golf Centre
Playing the 329th miniature golf course on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour at Blaby Golf Centre in Leicestershire.
Blaby Golf Centre is home to an 18-hole Minigolf course - the Congo River |
On Thursday 27th March 2014 we visited Blaby Golf Centre in Leicestershire to play the Congo River Adventure Golf course.
A previous visitor to the Congo River Adventure Golf course in Blaby! |
There's a crashed plane on the course too! |
On the day of our visit we were told that three of the 18-holes were being cleaned/repaired so we'd only be able to have a partial round.
One of the closed holes |
As we'd travelled to Blaby specifically to play the course we weren't put off by the prospect of not having a full game.
The Adventure Golf layout is interesting and has some unique hole designs. Some of the holes have a carpet-like surface, while others are felt coverings.

Emily playing hole 17 on her way to a slight victory over Richard |
In our match-up Emily and I tied on a score of 49 apiece, although as Emily scored a hole-in-one and I didn't she picked up the victory.
The course was the 329th played and 549th visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

From the archives - Coalville Minigolf, Leicestershire (June 2008)
Back on the 14th June 2008 we were heading to Northallerton on a roadtrip (that would also see us play courses in Scarborough and Filey) and were passing by Coalville on our journey up the M1 so decided to look in on the (then) brand new 9-hole hole course.
The course in Coalville, Leicestershire was the 54th we visited on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour at that point.
While we were there we held a three-player Irregular Mini Golf Tour competition that saw me, Emily and our friend Daniel Marsh play a two-round (18-hole) match. The first round was a qualifier, with the top two players then facing off against each other in round two.
In round one Emily scored a 28(+10), to me and Daniel's 23(+5).
In the second round Daniel hit a 24(+6), while I scored a 23(+5) again to just sneak the victory with a two-round +10 score of 46!
The next time we're heading north we must pass by the course for another round or two.
