New Adventure Golf at Leicester Golf Centre

Leicester Golf Centre will soon be home to a new outdoor Adventure Golf course.

An 18-hole space-themed outdoor Adventure Golf course is being created at Leicester Golf Centre in Oadby, Leicester.

The course is planned to open in July 2024.

Putt Club Crazy Golf in Leicester

A new Putt Club indoor crazy golf course is now open in Leicester.

Putt Club - a motorsport-themed indoor crazy golf course - has opened in Leicester.

The venue opened in October this year.

Putt Club's brand of crazy golf has opened in the last few years and we're yet to give one of their courses a play on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

New Crazy Golf course opening in Leicester

A new motorsport-themed Crazy Golf course is opening in Leicester in November.

Leicester will soon be home to a new indoor Crazy Golf course as the team from Putt Club are opening a venue in the city on the 6th November.

Putt Club Leicester joins other Putt Club courses in Hull, Watford, London Docklands and the newly opened London Edmonton location.

Minigolf in Leicester

There has been a real boom in minigolf courses opening in Leicester, with the new Putt Club joining Treetop Adventure Golf and Caddyshackers in the city centre. The wider Leicestershire area is home to a number of other courses too.

Retailtainment

Minigolf has grown in popularity in the last nine years and has moved from being seen as a traditional outdoor seaside summer activity to become a year-round game that can be played indoors, outdoors and at pretty much any time of the day.

A number of high streets, retail parks and shopping malls are now home to minigolf courses, with more new venues planned to open.

We've played minigolf in Leicester and Leicestershire a number of times on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour over the last 15 years. We're looking forward to a return visit in the future.

Among the various fried chicken shops we've seen other US states represented at Arizona Fried Chicken, Dallas Fried Chicken, West Virginia Fried Chicken, Kansas Fried Chicken, Oregon Fried Chicken and Alaska Fried Chicken.

We've also seen a Toronto Fried Chicken shop in Rochdale and quite a few 'KFCs'.

Lane7 opening in Leicester

A new Lane7 indoor bowling, minigolf and street food venue is opening at Leicester Central Station.

Lane7 will be opening a new venue in Leicester city centre in October.

The site at Leicester Central Station will be home to tenpin bowling, indoor crazy golf, arcade games, street food and more.

We've been to Lane7 in Newcastle upon Tyne and played the crazy golf course there. We were last there a year ago yesterday!

What a difference a year makes

A look back at our minigolfing visits to Leicester in 2019.

We competed in the Caddyshackers Open minigolf tournament at Caddyshackers Crazy Golf in Leicester last year.

We were joined in the team event by our friends and often minigolf rivals Brad 'The Fist' Shepherd and Jam 'Jamdre the Giant' Trubridge.

Having qualified for the grand final we returned a week later.

The Caddyshackers Crazy Golf course was the 903rd visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

While in the city we also swung by the new Treetop Adventure Golf venue at the Highcross Shopping Centre.

Emily and I also returned to Leicester as a stop-off en route to East Anglia in September.

It looks highly unlikely that we'll be travelling anywhere this year.

2020 has pretty much gone down the pan

It'll be nice to revisit Leicester again in the future when it's safe to do so.

We've also been to minigolf courses at Blaby Golf Centre and Charnwood Golf Complex in Leicestershire.

What a weekend of minigolf!

Updates from miniature golf courses in St Helens, Swadlincote, Leicester and Pula in Croatia.

Our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour continued over the weekend, with five new courses visited, a course revisit, a tournament final and a report from a course in Croatia!

We certainly took in a variety of courses on our travels.

At the 910th course on our adventures

On Saturday we visited Garswood in St Helens, Merseyside as Emily had spotted what looked like a Crazy Golf course in a pub beer garden. The sighting was correct and The Railway Hotel in the St Helens suburb did indeed have a course.

Unfortunately the 9-hole Crazy Golf course was no longer in use. While we didn't get to have a game, we did however enjoy sitting in the sun in the pub's beer garden before moving on to our next location.

We'd recently heard that a new Adventure Golf course was opening up at Clarkes Golf Centre in Rainford, St Helens and called in for a look. The course is there, but we were a week too early for a round as it's opening this Friday, 28th June.

Driving back home we swung by Bents Garden Centre in Glazebury to see if the second Adventure Golf course is open there yet. Unfortunately we were half hour too late and the centre had closed for the day.

While we were in St Helens my brother Christopher was on holiday in Croatia. Staying on the Istria peninsula they managed to find a minigolf course at the Pula Arena holiday camp!

On Sunday we returned to Caddyshackers Crazy Golf in Leicester to compete in the grand final of the inaugural Caddyshackers Open tournament.

En route to Leicester we made a stop in Swadlincote, Derbyshire to look for the Crazy Golf course in Eureka Park.

The colourful Crazy Golf course at Eureka Park looked really nice. However we couldn't find the Park Keeper to hire a putter and balls from so it was an unplayed course visit this time

It was brilliant meeting up with our friends and old minigolf rivals Brad, Jam and Seth for the Caddyshackers Open team competition and we had a fun evening out in Leicester after the tourney.

Emily and I have now been to 871 courses in the British Isles and 39 courses in eleven overseas countries for a total of 910 course visits.

Christopher has been to 28 courses in nine overseas countries.

The combined total of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour is now up to 926 courses since September 2006.

Last Sunday we visited Caddyshackers Crazy Golf in Leicester city centre to compete in the Caddyshackers Open minigolf tournament.

The team behind Caddyshackers will soon be opening a tenpin bowling alley on the floor above the Crazy Golf course

We spotted the Godfather Pizza place while in Leicester to play Crazy Golf at the weekend

We've seen quite a few gangster-related businesses on our travels. There are a lot in Stockport!

Treetop Adventure Golf in Leicester

Treetop Adventure Golf is now open at the Highcross Shopping Centre in Leicester.

We swung by the brand new two course, 36-hole indoor Adventure Golf venue while in Leicester on Sunday and were pleased to see the course really busy with players.

Treetop Adventure Golf in Leicester is home to two 18-hole courses, the Ancient Explorer and the Tropical Trail. There's also a cool looking, electronic Lucky 19th hole.

We're looking forward to playing the Treetop Adventure Golf courses in Leicester in the future.

I wonder who won?

The Treetop Adventure Golf courses in Manchester were the 799th and 800th we visited in the British Isles.

There were lots of people enjoying their mini golf adventure inside Treetop Golf when we visited
