A rollercoaster minigolf journey!

Looking back at the crazy golf course at Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells, Skegness, Lincolnshire, England.

We've been to some weird and wonderful miniature golf courses in some crazy locations over the last 19 years.

One of the fun and intriguing places we had a game of minigolf was UNDERNEATH a rollercoaster at the Fantasy Island theme park in Ingoldmells, Skegness, Lincolnshire, England back in May 2011!

Sadly this particular crazy golf course is a lost course. Fantasy Island is now home to an 18-hole course called Lava Creek Adventure Golf. It's a course we need to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

At that point the 12-hole outdoor crazy golf course at the Fantasy Island theme park was the 240th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

We've now been to 1,099 courses overall in the last 19 years, with 1,038 of those locations in the British Isles.

Within the British Isles Emily and I have been to courses in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Jersey and the Isle of Man. We've also travelled to minigolf courses in twelve countries - Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Finland, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Spain (including Lanzarote and Majorca), Sweden and the USA.

New Adventure Golf course at Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells

There's a new Adventure Golf course at Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells.

Many thanks to our friend Steven Huckle for letting us know about the new Adventure Golf course at Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire.

The Lava Creek Adventure Golf course is an 18-hole, multi-platform course. Check out the Fantasy Island website for more details.

We've visited Ingoldmells on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour before. Back in May 2011 we played the Crazy Golf course underneath the rollercoaster at Fantasy Island. That course was the 240th played on our travels. We're now up to 823 course visits.

Happy National Roller Coaster Day

I heard via The Milky Way adventure park in Devon that today is National Roller Coaster Day. Over the years we've played a few minigolf courses next to, or underneath, roller coasters!

The two that courses that immediately spring to mind are the Crazy Golf course at Ingoldmell's Fantasy Island and the Pike's Pass Miniature Golf course at Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas.

Emily playing at Ingoldmells

One of the first unplayable courses we visited on our tour was the Extraordinary Golf course at Alton Towers. Unfortunately it was flooded when we arrived on a rainy day in June 2007 so we were unable to play any of the roller coaster and ride-themed holes.

In 2011 Clacton Pier was home to a minigolf course that sat just along from the thrill rides the pier offers.

We've visited the Aztec and Inca Adventure Golf courses in Southend-on-Sea that are part of Adventure Island, home to some roller coasters and rides.

The Milky Way adventure park itself also has an 18-hole Mini Golf Putting course.

Minigolf, Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf Courses on the Lincolnshire Coast

Details of Adventure Golf, Crazy Golf, Minigolf and Putting Green courses that we've visited in Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe, Chapel St Leonards, Skegness, Ingoldmells, Woodhall Spa and Spalding.

In the summer of 2011 our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour took Emily and I to Lincolnshire where we spent a pleasent week touring the seasides, with a few stops inland along the way. As part of our tour of Lincolnshire (and a little bit of Norfolk) we went to seven seasides, visited 34 minigolf and crazy golf courses, played in countless Amusement Arcades and walked along a few Piers too.

On our trip to Lincolnshire we also visited the smallest pub on the planet - The Signal Box Inn - in Cleethorpes. Following our visit I sent them a mini-Miniature Golf course for their games area!

Crazy Golf at Fantasy Island in Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire

After visiting and playing a stack of Crazy Golf, Minigolf and Adventure Golf in Skegness, the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour took us off to Ingoldmells on Saturday 21st May, for a go on the 12-hole Crazy Golf course at the Fantasy Island Theme Park.

The course was the 240th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

The course itself sat below the two massive Rollercoasters at Fantasy Island.

In a way the course/location reminded me of the Pike's Pass Miniature Golf course at the Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas, not in the course design, but in the fact that it was in close proximity to the Rollercoaster itself!

In our Irregular Mini Golf Tour Match-up Emily defeated me 33-34.

The course was fun to play, reasonably priced and with good equipment. It's worth a visit if you're in the area - even with so much else to see and do at Fantasy Island.

The Fantasy Island Theme Park is also home to the Largest Market in Europe! The site also sits within one of the biggest spreads of Caravan Parks in the UK!

On a Minigolf/Rollercoaster-related note - Back in June 2007 we visited Alton Towers to play the Ride-Themed Extraordinary Golf course - unfortunately it was closed. We've also played next to a rollercoaster at the Pike's Pass Miniature Golf course at Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas.
