Mini Golf at Les Mielles in Jersey

18-holes of minigolf at Les Mielles in Jersey.

Here's a look at the 18-hole Breakers Miniature Golf course in St Ouens Bay, Jersey. The course was the 400th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour on Monday 23rd May 2016.

The course has a nice scorecard

Adventure Golf course at the Greensward Cafe in Clacton on Sea

The new Adventure Golf course at the Greensward Cafe in Clacton on Sea is now open and we've heard it's proving to be incredibly popular.

Mark at the Greensward Cafe sent along some nice photos showing the new minigolf course.

The new Greensward Adventure Golf course is on the site of an old Miniature Golf layout that we played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in May 2009.

We're really looking forward to a game on the new minigolf course. It looks excellent. Clacton on Sea is a great seaside town too and well worth a visit.

Greensward Adventure Golf is open from 9am 7-days a week. Check out the Greensward Cafe website and Facebook page for more details.

Bar Billiards in Jersey

Back in 2013 I was playing Bar Billiards against Brad 'The Fist' Shepherd at the Charles II in London when a pub character told us about a table at the Dog & Sausage pub in St Helier, Jersey.

On our holiday earlier this week we popped into the pub hoping for a game. Only to find that the table had been removed.

You can't play Bar Billiards at the Dog & Sausage in St Helier any more

We also had a look in the Merton hotel - venue for the 2014 World Championships - but there was no sign of a table there either.

Before leaving the island we really wanted to get a game in and when we spotted the words 'Bar billiards' on a pub chalkboard sign we thought we were in luck. Sadly the table at The Caesarea had also gone.

What's a more permanent way of advertising something than a chalkboard. Unfortunately the 'Bar billiards' listing on the sign at The Caesarea must of been on there quite some time

The landlady there was friendly though and managed to find out there were still tables at The Devonshire and The Mont Felard. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit either pub before our flight left.

Bar Billiards is a great pub game, it's a real shame there aren't more tables around.

Check out the All England Bar Billiards Association (AEBBA) website for more details of the game and where to play.

Breakers Realistic Miniature Golf at Les Mielles in Jersey

Playing the 400th course on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Breakers Miniature Golf is a very BIG minigolf course

On Monday 23rd May we played the landmark 400th minigolf course on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. What began with a putt around an Adventure Golf course in Southsea, Hampshire has taken us all around the UK, as well as on a few jaunts overseas.

Halfway through playing our 400th minigolf course

The 400th course played since we began our travels in September 2006 was the Breakers Realistic Miniature Golf course, which is part of the Les Mielles Fun Zone at Les Mielles Golf & Country Club in St Ouens Bay, Jersey.

The 18-hole Mini Golf course on the largest of the Channel Islands is the most Southerly course in the British Isles. It's also really really BIG!

In our match-up in the Jersey Grand Prix I defeated Emily with a score of 58 to 66.

Winning in Jersey

We visited on a Monday just before the peak season and so had the course to ourselves - a real treat. Some of the holes are very very very long indeed, so scoring a two was as good as a hole-in-one on some of the layout. Although there were definite ace opportunities to be had there.

You can find the Breakers Miniature Golf course at Les Mielles Golf and Country Club, St Ouens Bay, St Peter, Jersey, Channel Islands JE3 7FQ. Visit the Les Mielles website, Facebook and Twitter for more information, opening times and prices.

The course is under the flight path of Jersey Airport

Last summer we spent two weeks touring the South West of England and visited 62 courses. This year our gallivanting for minigolf has matched the easygoing pace of Jersey island life, but it was marvellous to reach another BIG minigolf milestone on our tour.

The Mini Golf course can be found in the Les Mielles Fun Zone. It's next to a Segway Grand Prix

The course gets the (double) thumbs up!

A very aceable hole

What a big course for a big occasion

Emily putts out of a bunker

Another big shot needed

Playing it from where it lies

Another tough second putt

The 17th is a very looooooooong minigolf hole

You can barely see Emily as she tees-off

Nor me!

We had a very fun morning putting around the course. It's well worth a play

Playing the Les Mielles Miniature Golf course brought our total of course visits to 679. When we began our tour there were an estimated 600 courses in the UK! Sadly a large number of courses we've visited over the years have been unplayable for one reason or another. That's why in 2015 we visited the landmark 600th and 650th courses in Swanage and Padstow.

The 400th course we ever visited was at Salthouse Fields in Clevedon, Somerset in 2011.

It was great to play the most Southerly minigolf course in the British Isles. On our travels we've already played at the Easternmost courses (a Putting Green and Adventure Golf course in Lowestoft, Suffolk) and on the two highest courses - both on the Great Orme in Llandudno, Wales. We're yet to play the most Northerly Crazy Golf course - although that only opened in April this year.

Crazy Golf in Stoke Park, Guildford

Back in 2008 the Crazy Golf course in Guildford's Stoke Park became the 75th course played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. Last weekend it also became the 399th played. It has certainly changed a lot - even since my last visit in 2012.

The Swedish Felt B-Run course used to be a 12-hole layout. It's now a full 18-holes, and has a very different playing surface - with astroturf 'grass' and raised 'bunkers'. Quite different indeed.

Check out the photos of the new 18-hole Crazy Golf course layout below.

The new 18th hole

The course was built by City Golf Europe

It's a very tricky layout

This hole was nigh on impossible to play!

This one was trickier now it has thicker 'grass'

The longest hole on the course

A loop-di-loop with felt on the outside of the obstacle!

Another very difficult hole to play

The Stoke Park Minigolf course is in a very nice setting. It's worth a play - but don't expect to get a low score!

Our visit this time was as part of the Surrey Invitational Minigolf Tournament that took place on National Miniature Golf Day 2016!
