Crazy World of Minigolf Tour - 154 Courses Played and 197 Visited So Far

It all started on the 30th September 2006 when Emily and I decided to visit as many Crazy Golf & Minigolf courses, and seaside resorts, in the UK (and beyond) on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

To date, a total of 2,127 holes of mini and crazy golf have been played over the 154 course visits (not including all of the extra play at tournaments, practice rounds or multiple visits) with a whole lot of holes-in-one, tournament wins and great fun.

Now, just over three years later, I have played 154 Minigolf courses, while Emily has played 143 courses (including Crazy Golf/Minigolf variants such as Mini Golf, Miniature Golf, Adventure Golf, Eternit, Beton, Swedish Felt and Putting Greens).

Crazy World of Minigolf Tour - 152 Minigolf Courses Played So Far

It all started on the 30th September 2006 when Emily and I decided to visit as many Crazy Golf & Minigolf courses, and seaside resorts, in the UK (and beyond) on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

To date, a total of 2,100 holes of mini and crazy golf have been played over the 152 course visits (not including all of the extra play at tournaments, practice rounds or multiple visits) with a whole lot of holes-in-one, tournament wins and great fun.

Now, just under three years later, I have played 152 Minigolf courses, while Emily has played 142 courses (including Crazy Golf/Minigolf variants such as Mini Golf, Miniature Golf, Adventure Golf, Eternit, Beton, Swedish Felt and Putting Greens).

The question is now - which will be the 200th course we play?

Christmas-themed Crazy Golf courses

Will there be any festive minigolf this year?

Summer is almost over and the shops have already started selling Christmas stuff, so now is the perfect time to ask whether there will be any Christmas-themed miniature golf courses this year?

The first Christmas-themed minigolf course we saw was set-up in London ten years ago

We love seeing courses getting involved in different events and seasonal activities. On our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour we've seen a few Christmas-themed layouts, including the Chrizy Golf course in Manchester back in 2012!

In 2012 there was a six-week pop-up Crazy Golf course at Piccadilly Place in Manchester

Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida is home to two permanent 18-hole minigolf courses known as Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf. Our friend Shelley Barrett has played them.

Minigolf is becoming more and more popular and has grown from being a traditional outdoor seaside summer activity to become a year-round game that can be played indoors, outdoors and at pretty much any time of the day.

Many businesses are also booking Christmas parties at miniature golf courses around the UK and there are certainly a lot of venues suited to cater for groups, with many minigolf centres now featuring bars and restaurants too.

Given the minigolf boom I wonder how many specifically Christmas-themed courses we'll see this festive season? If you know of any, please do get in touch.

Christmas Crazy Golf in years gone by

I won the Chrizy Golf Masters tournament in November 2012

In 2017 the Lakeside Village Shopping Centre in Doncaster had a free-to-play Christmas Crazy Golf course set up for shoppers to play during the festive season.

In 2013 the Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough hosted the Christmas-themed 9-hole Miniature Golf course from Mini Golf and Games. I'd played the course when it was set-up, without the festive decorations, in Letchworth Garden City that summer.

Fun Fore All Family Fun Park in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania hosts an annual Holiday Lights Mini Golf event and it looks superb.

Crazy World of Minigolf Tour - 149 Minigolf Courses Played So Far

It all started on the 30th September 2006 when Emily and I decided to visit as many Crazy Golf & Minigolf courses, and seaside resorts, in the UK (and beyond) on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

Now, almost three years later, I've played 149 Minigolf courses, while Emily has played 139 courses (including Crazy Golf/Minigolf variants such as Mini Golf, Miniature Golf, Adventure Golf, Eternit, Beton, Swedish Felt and Putting Greens).

A total of 2,058 holes of Minigolf have been played over the 149 course visits (not including all of the extra play at tournaments, practice rounds or multiple visits) with a whole lot of holes-in-one and great fun.

The question is now - which will be the 150th course we play?

Mini Golf in Civray, France

A look at the Mini Golf course in Civray, France.

Many thanks to Thomas at Boîte de Timbres for sending me over these snaps of the municipal 12-hole miniature golf course near his stamp shop in Civray, France.

Thomas has suggested that we do a mini-tour of the free municipal miniature golf courses in France. It does sound like fun.

My brother Christopher spotted a minigolf course in Lac de la Cavayère on his travels last year. That course is only open in July and August!

Before moving to France Thomas had a stamp and postcard shop in Letchworth Garden City where I found many brilliant minigolf postcards for my collection.
