The Ryder Legends Mini Golf course at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield

Looking back at playing the Ryder Legends Mini Golf course at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield.

We visited The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield back in September 2017. We were there to play the Ryder Legends Mini Golf course as part of the inaugural American Golf National Adventure Golf Championship.

Playing hole 3 (inspired by the 17th at Kiawah Island)

Each of the 12-holes on the Ryder Legends Mini Golf course is based on a famous hole from 'big' golf. It's a tricky layout with some very long holes.

Along with Peter Jones I'd qualified for the grand final of the American Golf National Adventure Golf Championship after winning the Welsh Regional Qualifier in April 2017.

The Ryder Legends Mini Golf course was the 456th course played and 768th visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. You can see photos of the holes below and videos of the 12-holes on our YouTube Channel (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).

The Rules

Hole 1 - Inspired by the 17th at Valderrama 

You need to play around the tree 

A view back to the tee 

Hole 2 - Inspired by the 18th at Wentworth 

A tough hole to score a two on

Not easy at all 

Hole 3 - Inspired by the 17th at Kiawah Island 

The longest hole on the course 

Hole 4 - Inspired by the 13th at Valhalla 

You need to play a nicely paced tee-shot on this hole 

Hole 5 - Inspired by the 9th at Royal Lytham & St Annes 

The pipes aren't as easy to putt into as they look! 

Hole 6 - Inspired by the 16th at Royal Birkdale 

A long and uphill shot 

It is aceable though 

Hole 7 - Spiral Fun Hole

A good chance for a hole in one - or a tricky second putt 

Hole 8 - U-Bend Fun Hole

An ace opportunity

Hole 9 - Inspired by the 5th at Pinehurst 

A good two

Hole 10 - Up and Over Fun Hole 

A good chance for a hole in one 

Hole 11 - Inspired by the 10th at The Belfry

The potential round-wrecker 

Many teams fell foul of the ditch on this hole

A tough green to reach

Hole 12 - Inspired by the 15th at PGA National

The last hole to play is a fairly long one

Crazy Golf at Henblas Park in Bodorgan, Anglesey, Wales in 2009

A look back at our visit to play the crazy golf course at Henblas Park in Bodorgan, Anglesey, Wales in 2009.

We played the one-of-a-kind 8-hole crazy golf course at Henblas Park in Bodorgan on the Isle of Anglesey during our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour road-trip around the Welsh coast back in August 2009.

The course was unique, featuring holes and obstacles we'd not seen before - and haven't seen since.

The most interesting aspect of the crazy golf course was that it lacked actual cups to putt into to finish out the playing of a hole. Instead, you needed to guide your bouncy golf ball into a u-shape piece of concrete!

The layout is a lost minigolf course as the site has changed from a farm and adventure park into a luxury wedding venue.

We're glad we got to experience playing the course when we did, as it made for a very memorable game of crazy golf!

Crazy Golf in Church Stretton, Shropshire

A look back at our visit to the crazy golf course in Church Stretton, Shropshire.

We visited Church Stretton while en route to Wales in August 2019. While there we swung by the 9-hole crazy golf course in the main town park.

The 9-hole course was the 913th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

It looked like an interesting layout and one we'd liked to have played if it was open.

It appeared to be a mixture of 'Eternit' miniature golf and 'Beton' concrete styles, types more commonly found in continental Europe.

20 for 20 - Australian Adventure Golf course at Adlington Golf Centre

20 for 20: 20 years of our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

This month we're celebrating two decades of our crazy minigolfing adventures.

Our local course is the Australian Adventure Golf course at Adlington Golf Centre. It became the 1,117th course visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour since September 2006 when we swung by for a game earlier this year.

The Australian Adventure Golf course at Adlington Golf Centre lays claim to the title of being the largest Adventure Golf course in Europe and features 18-holes of outdoor adventure golf that are played over 1500sqm of greens and a 10,000sqm site.
