Are you planning a minigolf event in 2019 or do you have a BIG minigolf anniversary to celebrate this year - do get in touch to let us know!
Did you know:
Miniature Golf will be 152 years old in 2019! The world's first Grass Putting course was set-up at St Andrews, Scotland in 1867. The Himalayas is still there now and is a real pleasure to play.
The first minigolf course in the USA opened in 1916. It was called 'Thistle Dhu' and located in Pinehurst, NC.
A Miniature Golf contest was part of the Olympic Games at the 1904 St Louis Games.
Crazy Golf is 93 years old in 2019. The very first course opened in 1926 on South Parade in Skegness, Lincolnshire, England.
1926 also saw the first artificial miniature golf course open in the USA, with the 'Tom Thumb' miniature golf course opening near Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN.
It'll be 89 years since the first National Tom Thumb Golf Championship took place on the 23rd October 1930.
Happy Miniature Golf Day. Where will you be playing a game (or two) of minigolf today?
Each year there are two quasi-official annual 'days' to celebrate the game. The second of these awareness days is Miniature Golf Day and it's ALWAYS on the 21st of September.
After this particular Miniature Golf Day the next is National Miniature Golf Day. That 'minigolf day' falls on the second Saturday in May. In 2019 it'll be on Saturday 11th May.
For some ideas and inspiration check out our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour blog post to see the 809 courses we've visited on our travels over the last twelve years.

Visiting Championship Adventure Golf in New Brighton
On Saturday 13th May (National Miniature Golf Day) we headed to New Brighton to play the two Championship Adventure Golf courses on King's Parade.
Championship Adventure Golf in New Brighton is home to 36-holes of minigolf
Championship Adventure Golf opened in 2014 and we've been looking forward to playing the courses since then. It was worth the wait. Both the Championship and Local Landmark layouts are superb miniature golf courses and in great condition.
There's a nice little four-hole putting green to warm-up before hitting the full 18-holes
I really like the golf ball topped flag poles at the course
In our matches I defeated Emily 48-52 and 50-53.
The courses are not easy, but they do reward good putting skills. While you're unlikely to get a lot of holes-in-one, there is a nice incentive to do so, as you receive a badge to mark the achievement!
Minigolf winnings
I managed to get one ace on each course, while Emily scored two perfect shots on the Landmark course.
Emily after her ace on the lighthouse hole
We enjoyed our day out at the resort and we're looking forward to a return visit to the courses and New Brighton as a whole.
The new courses are certainly different to the old 18-hole Kings Parade Crazy Golf course that we had a look at on our only other visit to New Brighton back in 2011. The Adventure Golf courses at Kings Parade Gardens were built on the area once used for tennis courts. The old concrete Crazy Golf course sat to the left of the steps you took to reach the courts.
So, this Saturday is National Miniature Golf Day, National Train Day AND National Windmill Day. Saturday 13th May will certainly be ticking a lot of my boxes!
For us most days seem like they are Minigolf Days!
However, there are two quasi-official annual awareness 'days' to celebrate the game. After National Miniature Golf Day is Miniature Golf Day. This is always on the 21st of September, this year it'll be on a Thursday.
Emily and I appear in the 2017 Dull Men's Club Calendar in the month of July. We've also got National Miniature Golf Day listed. The 13th is going to be quite the day considering it's Train AND Windmill Day too!
Back in 2008 the Crazy Golf course in Guildford's Stoke Park became the 75th course played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. Last weekend it also became the 399th played. It has certainly changed a lot - even since my last visit in 2012.
The Swedish Felt B-Run course used to be a 12-hole layout. It's now a full 18-holes, and has a very different playing surface - with astroturf 'grass' and raised 'bunkers'. Quite different indeed.
Check out the photos of the new 18-hole Crazy Golf course layout below.
The new 18th hole
The course was built by City Golf Europe
It's a very tricky layout
This hole was nigh on impossible to play!
This one was trickier now it has thicker 'grass'
The longest hole on the course
A loop-di-loop with felt on the outside of the obstacle!
Another very difficult hole to play
The Stoke Park Minigolf course is in a very nice setting. It's worth a play - but don't expect to get a low score!
Our visit this time was as part of the Surrey Invitational Minigolf Tournament that took place on National Miniature Golf Day 2016!
