Many thanks to my friend, minigolf rival and fellow crazy golf enthusiast Martyn Williams of the Welsh Minigolf Club for letting me know about a brand new Mini Golf course that recently opened at Parc Bryn Bach in Tredegar.

It looks like an ace layout and Martyn tells me it plays very nicely indeed.

It's another course for us to visit when our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour returns to Wales.

Check out the Parc Bryn Bach website for more information.

Many thanks to my friend and minigolf rival Martyn Williams of the Welsh Minigolf Club for letting me now about the minigolf course at the Gateway Resort holiday park in Bynea, Carmarthenshire.

The description of the course is quite unique as it states the layout contains "some worryingly realistic cowpats"!

Visit the Gateway Resort website for more information.

It's another new course for us to play on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

A retro Iceland shopfront in Port Talbot, Wales

Knowing my interest in retro retail signage my friend and minigolf rival Martyn Williams sent me over this snap of the retro signage at the Iceland supermarket in Port Talbot.

I don't know how I missed seeing it when I was in Port Talbot for the Welsh Doubles Championship last year!?

Port Talbot and the seaside bit of it at Aberavon are well worth a visit. I had a brilliant stay on the seafront in May 2019.

I'm really looking forward to returning to Wales when it's safe to do so. 2020 is the first year in ages that I haven't had at least a day trip to the country.

Playing the course

We played the 18-hole dinosaur-themed Tee-Rex Adventure Golf course last August. How times change.

It was the 916th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

On that visit we enjoyed a round with Martyn and our old friends and minigolf rivals Cindy and Jas Kukielka.

The Tee Rex Golf course was built by the team at HM Adventure Golf in 2017 and we've been wanting to get along for a game for a while.

What's wrong with this picture?

We had a fun competition on the course and there were some very close scores on the tricky layout.

At the end of the round I came out the winner by one-shot on 40(+4). Martyn, captain of the Welsh Minigolf Club, and Emily both hit 41(+5) and required a play-off.

The sudden-death play-off began on hole 1. After nether player could be separated after three plays of the hole the play-off moved to hole 2 where Emily shot a three and Martyn hit a two for the win.
