Worthing Splash Point Minigolf - Course Revisit - May 2011

On our mini-tour of the South Coast between Hastings and Worthing on Sunday 15th May 2011 we made a revisit to the excellent 18-hole Splash Point Minigolf Course in Worthing, West Sussex.

Unfortunately we were just a little too late to have a round, but we did have a nice chat to course co-owner (and fellow BMGA Tour Pro) Peter Emmerson.

The course has had a few changes/additions made since it opened last year, including:
- A loop-the-loop has been added to hole 5
- Hole 12 now has two new rocks and a new ace line
- The rock on hole 15 has now moved to make the tee shot harder
- Hole 18 has a new rock making the direct route to the hole extremely hard.

The course record stands at 29.

When we played the course last year it became the 181st played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

Last July I was runner-up in the BMGA British Matchplay Championships held at the course.

Mini Golf (Pitch Putt) in Shoreham by Sea (I think)!

On our little tour of the South Coast between Hastings and Worthing we spotted another 'Mini Golf' at Shoreham by Sea (I think). We didn't play it as we were running short on time, and it was a Pitch & Putt variety of Miniature Golf.

Brighton & Hove Minigolf Courses Not Played This Time Around

With time running out on our mini-roadtrip and with us wanting to reach Worthing on Sunday 15th May, we were unable to stop and play the newly extended to 18-holes Madeira Drive Adventure Golf course, or the concrete Crazy Golf by the Pier in Brighton.

Driving onwards we also spotted a Crazy Golf course at the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove, but didn't get to play it. We'll head back to have a game on it soon...

Brighton Marina Adventure Golf - Minigolf Course Played #224

A visit to the Pirates Cove Adventure Golf course in Brighton.

The 224th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour was at Brighton Marina at the 12-hole Pirates Cove Adventure Golf course we had heard about from fellow minigolfers Paul & Owen Johnson and Peter Emmerson. They had told us tales of how short and small some of the holes were, and they were right!

The theming of the course is good, and very Pirate-y, but some of the holes are incredibly short - in fact the are some of the smallest we have ever seen on our Minigolf travels! Hole 10 is particularly interesting as it is hardly a hole at all!?

I was also pleased to see a Shooting Shack right next to the course, as they're one of my other favourite things to have a go on at the seaside.

In our Irregular Mini Golf Tour match-up Emily defeated me by one shot.

Rodean - 18 Hole Mini Golf - Minigolf Course Visited But Not Played

Driving on into Brighton on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour on Sunday 15th May we spotted another 'Mini Golf' sign and course, this was also for another Miniature BIG Golf course. As we were pushed for time searching for the Crazy and Adventure kind of Minigolf we didn't have a round.

Rottingdean - Putting Course - Minigolf Course Played #223

On Sunday 15th May 2011 we headed to Rottingdean, near Brighton, to look for the two Mini Golf courses we had heard about.

The 223rd course played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour was at the Rottingdean Miniature Golf and Putting Course right next to the big Windmill.

The Miniature Golf, was of the BIG Mini Golf (aka Pitch & Putt/Par-3) variety, so we only played the Putting Course. It was very good to play, with some great views, and with it being quite exposed the wind was an extra element to consider!

In our Irregular Mini Golf Tour match-up I defeated Emily by six shots.
