Pirates Bay Adventure Golf in Paignton, Devon

A look back at our visit to the Pirates Bay Adventure Golf course in Paignton, Devon.

During our summer holiday around the South West of England back in 2015 we visited 62 miniature golf courses on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

One of those courses was Pirates Bay Adventure Golf in Paignton, Devon.

The course was the 619th visited on our travels.

 

  

Squeezing 62 courses into two-weeks was a BIG task and it wasn't possible to stop at, or play all of the Mini, Crazy and Adventure Golf courses, or all the Putting Greens and Pitch & Putts we saw on the trip, or those we'd heard about beforehand.

Adventure Golf at Victoria Park in Bath

A look back at our visit to the Adventure Golf course at Victoria Park in Bath.

On our holiday in Somerset back in November 2012 we had a round on the Victoria Falls Adventure Golf course at Victoria Park in Bath.

The 18-hole course was the 309th played and 513th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Jungle Journey Adventure Golf in Torquay, Devon

One of those courses was Jungle Journey Adventure Golf in Torquay, Devon.

The course was the 618th visited on our travels.

Funder Island Adventure Golf in Woolacombe, Devon

A look back at our visit to the Funder Island Adventure Golf course in Woolacombe, Devon.

During our summer holiday around the South West of England back in 2015 we visited 62 miniature golf courses on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

One of those courses was the 15-hole Funder Island Adventure Golf in the seaside town of Woolacombe.

The course was the 659th visited on our travels.

We also noticed that the Woolacombe Bay Hotel had a Mini Golf course of the Pitch & Putt variety. Unfortunately the cost to park in Woolacombe was so expensive we weren't able to play either of the courses

Upcoming events at Minigolf Neuhaus in Germany

There are two fun minigolf events coming up at Minigolf Neuhaus in Germany.

Both are taking place on Saturday 27th July, with a family event taking place from 3pm and the first-ever Moonlight Minigolf competition at the course following at 8pm until 11pm.

You can register for the events via the Minigolf Neuhaus Facebook Page. More info can be found on the Minigolf Neuhaus website.

The course at Minigolf Neuhaus is a Swedish Felt type layout.

Minigolf Neuhaus is the sister course of Minigolf Beverungen, that layout is of the Eternit Miniature Golf variety.

Both are popular playing surfaces in continental Europe. There are a few Eternit and Swedish Felt courses dotted around the UK and we've played a number of them on our travels. Emily is particularly good at playing on Eternit Miniature Golf lanes and during the 2011 WMF Nations Cup tournament in Stockholm, Sweden she set a British Women's Record with a round of 24(-12) on an 18-hole Eternit course.

We've never played minigolf in Germany, although we did visit the seaside resort of Cuxhaven on one of our first holidays together back in 2002.

Charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher Gottfried has visited some courses in Germany on his cycling trips in Europe, including layouts in Nittel, Zeltingen-Rachtig, Traben-Trarbach, Kobern-Gondorf and Berntkastel-Kues.
