Mini Golf at the King Street Festival in Manchester
Crazy Golf course at the King Street Festival in Manchester.
Manchester's King Street Festival is taking place this weekend, 3rd and 4th June, and will include Crazy Golf from the team at UrbanCrazy.
Between 11am and 8pm you can do battle with the fashion and history-inspired obstacles on a King Street-themed mini golf course set-up on Lower King Street.
On target on a previous UrbanCrazy city layout |
Check out the King Street Festival website for more info on the events and entertainment taking place.
It says there's 'free fizz' at the festival too. Nice.

Crazy Golf at the Herrings Green Farm Birds Of Prey Activity Centre in Bedford
Minigolf in the Birds Of Prey Activity Centre at Herrings Green Farm in Wilstead, Bedfordshire.
Our friend and minigolf rival Cheryl Angel from the UrbanCrazy team recently visited the Birds Of Prey Activity Centre at Herrings Green Farm and spotted they have a Crazy Golf course!
It's not one that was on our radar - and it's not a million miles from us! You can find the Birds Of Prey Activity Centre at Herrings Green Farm at Cotton End Road, Wilstead, Bedfordshire, MK45 3DT. Visit the Birds Of Prey Activity Centre website for more info.
The course is a DK Fibreglass style and is one of their '5 Star Crazy Golf' courses that has five cups to putt into on the green - I've scored a 'perfect' round on this type of course before!

Lurking in the back of one of the photos Cheryl sent over was what appears to be a 'Humpty' obstacle! A popular character to be found on these Crazy Golf courses |

Playing the Foreshore Sands Crazy Golf course in Bridlington
We recently spent a great weekend in Bridlington and unlike on our very brief trip at the end of last summer we managed to play the Crazy Golf course on the Foreshore.
It was interesting to see how much the area had changed in just a few short months! The photo below shows the 9-hole course layout as it was in July 2015, while the other photos show how it looked at the start of May this year.
The UrbanCrazy designed portable course has been moved into a smaller space, with the rest of the area next to the Spa Pavilion under redevelopment.
In our match on the course Emily defeated me by one-shot - 29 to 30 - after I took a disastrous six on the 9th hole!
The course is open from 11am to 4pm (weather permitting) and is worth a play.
Bridlington's Foreshore Sands Crazy Golf course was the 394th course played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and the 667th visited overall.

Foreshore Sands Crazy Golf course in Bridlington
A visit to the Foreshore Sands Crazy Golf course in Bridlington.
On our trip to the seaside town of Bridlington last summer we visited the Crazy Golf course on the Foreshore Sands.
Unfortunately we arrived quite late in the day so the course, built by the team at UrbanCrazy, was closed.
The course became the 667th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
It's certainly a bright layout and very different to other courses we've seen on our travels.
The temporary course was placed on the site of an old permanent 'Intergalactic' Crazy Golf course that you can see on some fairly recent postcards.
We can't wait to return to Bridlington later this year as there's lots we want to see and do there.

World Minigolf rankings update
Latest minigolf rankings from the World Minigolf Sport Federation.
The World Minigolf Sport Federation, the international governing body for miniature golf, has published the latest edition of the General Class Rankings for the year ending 31st December 2015.
In the Nations Rankings Great Britain is ranked 13th of 30 countries, up from 16th place. Fourteen GB players (13 men and 1 woman) have contributed to the nations ranking between 2013 and 2015. Germany, Sweden and the Czech Republic lead the rankings.
Once again Emily and I are both in the General Class Rankings.
In the Women's World Ranking List Emily is the sole British female player and is in tied 98th place (105 players) alongside Erika Benka (HUN), Anja Derks (NED), Asta Korpi (FIN), Ana Lopes (POR), Tänia Monteiro (POR), Amara Silva (POR) and Nathamon Tayutivuthikul (THA).
In the Men's World Ranking List I am in tied 387th place (404 players) together with Mislav Bjazic (CRO), Miguel Angel Hernandez (ESP), J. Hinojosa De Torres-Peralta (ESP), Erik Hjalmarsson (SWE), Marcel Korinek (SVK), Arton Krasniqi (KOS), Pawel Larus (POL), Hugo Madera (ESP), Sabri Maloku (KOS), Santiago Paramo (ESP), Jawaharlal Purohit (IND), Jose Maria Rivera Cadierno (ESP), Juan Pablo Ruano De Fruto (ESP), Petri Saukko (FIN), Craig Small (GBR), Georgij Srebren (CRO) and Lavdim Zylfiu (KOS).
Aside from the March 2011 list Emily and I have been in the sport's international rankings since November 2008 following our debut for the Great Britain team at that year's Nations Cup championships in Tampere, Finland.
It's nice to be listed alongside my friend Lavdim Zylfiu. He's a great ambassador of the sport and his country of Kosovo. I had the pleasure of competing against him in his international debut at the 2011 WMF World Adventure Golf Masters in Hastings. This year Lavdim is helping to organise the 2016 edition of the tournament on his home course in Prishtina.
Check out the WMF website where you can find out more about the sport, as well as the Junior and Senior Rankings - both lists feature GB players.
The Great Britain Minigolf Sport Team is sponsored by UrbanCrazy, suppliers of permanent and portable mini and crazy golf courses.
The World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) is the umbrella organisation of Minigolf sports association's worldwide and continental associations in Asia, Europe and America.
The WMF has 55 member nations, with the sport played in Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China, Chinese Taipai, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Kenya, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Togo, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, USA and Vietnam.
There are more than 38,000 competitive minigolf players registered with the WMF via the 55 member nations, with 900-plus clubs between them. Over 1,000 courses are approved for official competitions and around 1,500 minigolf tournaments held each year.

Mini Golf course opening in Saltburn-by-the-Sea
An update on Saltburn MiniGolf.
The new minigolf course in Saltburn-by-the-Sea is nearing completion and it looks great.
The marvellous new attraction on the Lower Promenade in Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a 10-hole course built by the minigolf marvels at UrbanCrazy.
We've played many many UrbanCrazy courses around the country and they're always very good fun and a nice test of putting skill.
Saltburn MiniGolf opens to the public on Saturday 19th March, with a Grand Launch on Saturday 26th March.
We can't wait to get along for a game.
Check out Saltburn MiniGolf on Facebook for more photos and a video showing how the course has developed in the last few months.

Crazy Golf course opening in Saltburn-by-the-Sea
There's a new minigolf course opening in Saltburn-by-the-Sea in 2016! Great news.
The team at UrbanCrazy are building the 10-hole layout that will be located on Saltburn Promenade in North Yorkshire.
UrbanCrazy have designed and built many great miniature golf courses and we've managed to play most of them on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We're looking forward to a return to Yorkshire and Saltburn for a round or two next year.
We've visited 84 courses this year, including some landmark visits on our tour. We reckon there are around 50 more courses for us to visit - but with new courses opening up who knows when we'll finish!
Check out the UrbanCrazy website for more info on the business - they hire out portable courses too.

A visit to the Miniature Golf course at Charnwood Golf Complex.
On Saturday 29th August we visited the 9-hole Minigolf course at Charnwood Golf Complex in Loughborough.

Peterborough Minigolf
Playing the new Mini Golf course at Dobbies Garden Centre in Peterborough.
On Friday 31st July we were able to play the brand new 12-hole Peterborough Minigolf course at Dobbies Garden Centre. We'd been looking forward to playing the course since we heard about its construction back in June. We hadn't originally planned to be travelling north using the A1M, but the adverse traffic conditions on the M1 meant we had the opportunity to swing by and give the layout a play.
The course became the 382nd played and 662nd visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
In our match-up Emily beat me by one shot, with a score of 29 to 30. Neither of us won a free game on the lucky last hole, but I did get a hole-in-one on the 6th hole.
The Peterborough Minigolf team worked with course designers and builders UrbanCrazy to create the course and they've done a fine job. We've played a lot of UrbanCrazy's courses on our tour and always enjoyed the look and playability of them.
As a big fan of mini golf merchandise I had to snap up one of the Peterborough Minigolf t-shirts (£8) while I was there.
Check out the Peterborough Minigolf website for more information, prices and opening times. We're looking forward to returning for some more games in the future.

As a big fan of mini golf merchandise I had to snap up one of the Peterborough Minigolf t-shirts (£8) while I was there.
The Peterborough Minigolf t-shirt - it's also available in pink and white versions. The course are selling mugs in the merch range too, but the prices weren't available on our visit |
Check out the Peterborough Minigolf website for more information, prices and opening times. We're looking forward to returning for some more games in the future.
The course gets a thumbs up |
