Miniature Railway at Abbotsfield Park in Manchester

A look at the model railway at Abbotsfield Park in Flixton, Manchester.

Last Saturday we were driving from the Trafford Centre to Altrincham and decided to take a 'scenic' route. It's always interesting exploring new places and over the years we've found a number of hidden and previously unknown miniature golf courses this way.

This time however we spotted a miniature railway at Abbotsfield Park in Flixton.

The model railway at Abbotsfield Park is operated by the Urmston & District Model Engineering Society.

You can get rides around the park and there was a train running while we were there. But it was very very rainy so we didn't have a go on it.

Since we moved up to Greater Manchester we've found quite a few miniature railways. There are three in Stockport borough!

Pirate Adventure Golf at Happy Mount Park in Morecambe

A visit to the Pirate Adventure Golf course at Happy Mount Park in Morecambe.

We recently stayed in Morecambe and while there visited the Pirate Adventure Golf course at Happy Mount Park.

The course became the 891st visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

 

We first visited Morecambe and Happy Mount Park in April 2012. The old Crazy Golf course was the 455th course visited on our travels. The Putting Course there was the 456th visited.

We followed this sign away from the Putting and Adventure Golf, but couldn't find another Miniature Golf course in the park

It was great to see a number of people enjoying the course and we had a nice wander around the park. We noticed there's a Miniature Railway there too.

Putting Course at Barrow Park

A visit to the Putting Course at Barrow Park in Barrow-in-Furness.

On a recent visit to Barrow-in-Furness we found a Putting Course at Barrow Park. Sadly it was closed.

The course looked like it was ready for play, or at least very nearly ready for the summer season.

Some of the holes looked really good, with plenty of lumps, bumps, twists and turns to tackle.

The course became the 893rd visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Barrow Park is also home to a very nice looking model railway.

Crazy Golf and a Miniature Railway at the Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley, Southampton

Our recent trip to Southampton saw us visit 18 more courses, playing eight of them.

One of the courses we played was the 9-hole Crazy Golf course at the Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley, Southampton.

The course was the 879th visited and 512th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

I scored a 20 in my round on the Crazy Golf course - 2, 3, 4, 3, 1, 1, 2, 2 and 2.
