The team from the Foxes Afloat narrowboat vlog recently stopped off in my home town of Abingdon where they looked at the tradition of Bun Throwing.

Mini Golf on a cruise ship
A look at the miniature golf course on the MSC Opera.
Our friends Sophia and Karl Moles have just returned from a Mediterranean cruise on the MSC Opera and sent us some snaps of the 8-hole minigolf course on the ship.
The MSC Opera sailed from Italy, to Montenegro, to Greece and then back to Italy.
The Moles family have found and played quite a few minigolf, crazy golf and adventure golf courses on their travels.

Benches in Middlewich, Cheshire
A look at some benches on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal.
Welcome to Middlewich. Please take a seat |
I was in Middlewich on Saturday and as it was the my first time in the small town I had a good wander around.
On my walk I found the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal.
A nice spot for a sit down. If it wasn't tipping it down that is |
The thing that really caught my eye was this unusual bench next to the towpath.
A narrowboat bench |
The seat part is meant to depict a cargo of salt |
A view looking north |
As it was raining quite heavily I didn't get to walk too far alongside the canal, but on my wander I did spot some other benches of interest.
Can you spot the bench in this photo |
There it is |
What a view |
Another nice bench. This one depicts the three locks at Middlewich |

Adventure Golf at Pontins Pakefield
A look at the minigolf course at Pontins Pakefield in Suffolk.
Our friends Sophia and Karl Moles were on a family holiday at Pontins Pakefield and sent us some photos of the Sailing Through The Ages minigolf course at the holiday park. It looks great fun.
Check out the other guest blog posts from Sophia and Karl about minigolf courses at Allhallows Leisure Holiday Park in Rochester, Haven's Caister-on-Sea Holiday Park and the Minigolf Sport Club Sanremo in Arma, Italy.
Emily and I have played two minigolf courses at Pontins holiday parks - at Prestatyn Sands and Camber Sands.

There's even a 'Titanic' on the course! |
Always nice to see BIG obstacles on minigolf courses |
There are plenty of nautical obstacles on the course |
Iceberg dead ahead! |
It looks like a good minigolf layout |

Spotting two other boats called 'Titanic'
Not to be ghoulish, but with a lot of media attention centreing on the 100th Anniversary of the ill-fated maiden voyage of RMS Titanic I thought I'd post a couple of snaps of two boats I've spotted on my travels that have been named Titanic!
Now, I'm not much of a seafarer, but if I was I don't think I'd be inclined to name my boat after it! I don't suppose it's a good idea to name a boat or ship The Mary Celeste either.
