An Advertising Airdancer Not Dancing in Boscombe

Another in the long line of sort of Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-men to add to my 'collection'.

The latest in the long line of Airdancers spotted on my travels was advertising payday loans at the Cash Converters in Boscombe, Dorset. It was lurching a fair bit when we first spotted it.

The following day it was a bit more upright, but needn't a bit more air.

A little more upright

A Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man in Stretford

Another Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man added to my ‘collection’ in Manchester!

While in Manchester to play the Chrizy Golf course and various other shenanigans at the weekend I was driving from Old Trafford to the Trafford Centre via Stretford in Manchester when I spotted a Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man outside Gleave Tool Centre on Chester Road!
Me and the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man at Gleave Tool Centre in Stretford
Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-men (or Airdancers to give them their technical name) are often used to help businesses in their advertising (as well as a few other things if you believe Family Guy's Al Harrington).

Once again the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man did its job in raising awareness of Gleave Tool Centre (founded in 1833 when it traded as "Wooden Plane Manufacturers and Dealers of Tools and Sheffield Cutlery"!).

A Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man in Flimwell

While travelling to Hastings, East Sussex last Thursday ahead of the 2012 'Castle Golf' World Crazy Golf Championship we travelled through Flimwell and at the cross roads on Hawkhurst Road I spotted a Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man!!!
A Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man outside the Country Furniture Barn in Flimwell
I had to turn the car round to have a photo taken with them to add to my 'collection'. What was great that there wasn't just one of them outside the Country Furniture Barns, but two of them! And even better than that, they were double-sided!
The second Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man outside the Country Furniture Barn in Flimwell. This one was by the car park.
The point of Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-men (or Airdancers to give them their technical name) are there to help advertise businesses (as well as a few other things if you believe Family Guy's Al Harrington).
A Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man and a Blue Airdancer.
It certainly worked as we popped into the Country Furniture Bar shop for a browse and would recommend it for a visit as there were some nice home, kitchen & garden furnishings and decorations.

A Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man at the Warwick Hilton

Many thanks to Trevor ‘Lord of Smeeth’ Robertson for sending me this snap of a Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man, or as he calls it a “windy man”, for my ‘collection’!

It was spotted at the Hilton Hotel in Warwick.

Two and a Half Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-Men

Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-Men spotted in Bangkok (and Worcester).

It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen any Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-Men on my travels. However, Emily being the world traveller that she is, has spotted two (and a half’ish) of them over in Bangkok, Thailand.

The first ones, that aren’t really the fun type of Airdancers made ‘famous’ by Al Harrington, were spotted outside the Times Square shopping plaza on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok.

The second lot were ‘real’ Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-Men and Emily spotted them attacking passers-by as she travelled in a taxi in Bangkok! I'm not sure what they were advertising though.

Last week I re-visited Guildford, Surrey but didn’t spot a Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-Man like I did on my first visit to the town.

Another not so Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man in Dunstable

Over the road from the not so Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man advertising a Car Wash in Dunstable there is now another not so Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man advertising an ATS Euromaster Car Brake Centre! This one is different, but the old one that was over the road has gone.

The technical name for Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-men is "Airdancer".

I've also seen you can buy a Game called Pumpaloons! It looks to be a home-based contest version of Airdancers!!!

Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-man spotted at a funfair in Luton

Following on from my spots of Wacky Waving Arm-Flailing Inflatable Tube-men (as sold by Al Harrington of Family Guy fame*) I found one advertising Slush Puppies at the Funfair at Wardown Park in Luton this evening.

While in the park I took a snap of the Mini & Crazy Golf course there.

Not so Wacky, Waving, Inflatable, Arm-Flailing, Tube-man in London

While in London I spotted a not so Wacky, Waving, Inflatable, Arm-Flailing, Tube-man this time advertising a Car Wash in Tower Hill!

Rather than the usual 'billowing and flailing' action of the Tube-Man it was so full of air it was completely static!

Check out the link below for other examples of Wacky, Waving, Inflatable, Arm-Flailing, Tube-men I've seen on my travels:
