Our last minigolf course visit of 2021 was to the Crazy Golf course at Manor Park in Glossop, Derbyshire.

The course was originally the 743rd visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in June 2017. It became the 438th played when we returned in better weather conditions the following month.

We had an afternoon in Glossop on Tuesday and made what is likely to be our last minigolf course visit of 2021 when we swung by the Crazy Golf course at Manor Park in the town.

The course was originally the 743rd visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in June 2017. It became the 438th played the following month when conditions were drier.

The course hasn't changed a great deal in that time.

We had a nice walk round the park and are looking forward to returning again in the Spring or Summer.

Lots of specialist minigolf balls - there's a lot more to the game than Clown's Mouths and Windmills

We met travel and adventure writer Elliot Windmill at the Dull Men's Club's Delightfully Dull, Brilliantly Boring Evening held in Preston last May and in July we met again for an afternoon of Crazy Golf at Manor Park in Glossop, Derbyshire.

Crazy Golf at Manor Park in Glossop

Playing a round of Crazy Golf at Glossop's Manor Park.

On the 28th June the Crazy Golf course in Glossop's Manor Park became the 743rd course visited on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. Unfortunately as it was a weekday the course wasn't open to play, so last Saturday we returned to give the course a go. Luckily the weather was a lot better than my visit the week before.

We also got to have a ride on the Miniature Railway which was brilliant fun.

The 6-minute train ride costs £2 per passenger and takes you round an interesting journey around the park and through the woods. You also get your hand stamped which means you can ride again for free!

Manor Park is a tremendous facility and we'd definitely visit again. Glossop as a whole is well worth seeing as there are some fantastic views of the Peak District from the town, as well as some interesting shops and pubs there too.

A visit to the Crazy Golf course in Glossop's Manor Park

A look at the Crazy Golf course at Manor Park in Glossop.

On Wednesday 28th June I was in Glossop, Derbyshire and made a visit to the Crazy Golf course in Manor Park.

The Crazy Golf course in Glossop became the 743rd visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and the 715th in the UK.

Unfortunately the council website says that there is nowhere to hire clubs and balls from to actually play the Crazy Golf course, which is strange considering how well maintained the area looks. I suppose if you're heading to the park or live nearby you can take your own equipment, but it's not really the same as hiring the kit and getting a scorecard and pencil too. Since first publishing this blog post I've heard from a contact in the town that clubs and balls can be hired from the nearby cafe in the park when it is open.

As a fan of both mini golf and miniature railways it was marvellous to see Manor Park has both - and they are side-by-side!

Even though it was raining I had a nice wander round the town and park. Manor Park is a short walk from the excellent town centre and both are well worth a visit.

Another minigolf course ticked off the list

I'm looking forward to a return visit to Glossop with Emily one day soon. Hopefully the miniature railway will be running then too.
