A revisit to the Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course in Prestatyn, Wales.

In August 2009 we visited and played the excellent 18-hole (19 if you count the 'Top Hole') Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course on Bastion Road in Prestatyn. The course was the 147th we played and the second to last played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour visit to Wales.

While on our Holiday on the Buses weekender in Prestatyn in September 2014 we visited the course a few times and on our first walk passed we saw our friend and fellow minigolfer Peter Jones practicing!

The course is in great condition and has some classic and tricky obstacles and putts. It's well worth a visit and has some of the friendliest course owners we've encountered on our travels.

Part of the Holiday on the Buses weekender organised by the On The Buses Fan Club included a Crazy Golf competition - The Butler Cup. As there were semi-pro players on the holiday this year there were two categories in the competition and Emily won the Pro Event!

Before playing the tournament we had a bit of a warm-up and after my round I rang the bell on the Lucky Last Hole to win a FREE GAME.

Crazy Golf in Ladram Bay, Devon

Spotting another course on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Neither Emily nor I have played or visited any Crazy Golf courses today - but charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher Gottfried has!

The Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course at the Ladram Bay Holiday Park in Otterton, Devon

While on business in Devon he found a miniature golf course at Ladram Bay, near Honiton. It looks like a great layout and is an example of an Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course that includes a windmill, loop-di-loop and lucky last hole.

On the 30 September 2006 we visited and played at the first course on what has become the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour and its great to hear about another new course for us to visit when we reach the south west of England.

Other courses visited by Christopher include Brighton (Crazy Golf), Paignton (Crazy Golf), Margate (Cliftonville, Little Oasis Crazy Golf), Herne Bay (Mini Golf), Newquay (Mini Golf) and Mundesley (Adventure Island Golf).

Looking on the Ladram Bay Holiday Park website the recently refurbished course costs £1.50 for a round.

Crazy Golf at West Sands Holiday Park, Selsey - Minigolf course played #271

Following our visit to the Crazy Golf at Earnley Gardens, we headed back on the road to our next stop at Selsey and the West Sands Holiday Park which has an 18-hole Crazy Golf course.

The course is pay to play and access is not restricted to Holiday Park guests. Great news for Minigolf Tourists such as ourselves.

The course itself is also home to a Chicken!? Another 'first' on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!



The course is definitely crazy and reminded us of Eternit-style Miniature Golf courses. There were some quite elaborate metalwork obstacles on the course too!

In our Irregular Mini Golf Tour Match-up Emily defeated me 27-34.

This uphill hole had a sand bunker on the far end, very hazardous!

The course also had a metal Alligator (or Crocodile) on it.

And there was a fairly large Windmill obstacle too.

It's another Minigolf course that you can reach by following Brown Tourist Signs.

Minigolf Course Visit No. 147 - Arnold Palmer Putting at Prestatyn

The penultimate minigolf course we would play on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour visit to Wales was the excellent 18-hole Arnold Palmer Putting Course at Prestatyn.

A very well maintained course, with plenty of classic Arnold Palmer obstacles. Great fun, we had to play it twice before we could leave.







In the most random thing to occur while I've been playing a round of Crazy Golf, a cat appeared on the course, and fell asleep on the hole I was about to play!?
