10 Minutes in Canvey Island

On a trip to Southend-on-Sea today we decided to take a quick detour to Canvey Island as it was on our 'seasides to visit' list.

Despite the driving rain we decided to brave the elements and have a walk along the seafront and to our amazement what did we discover but a previously unknown 9-Hole Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course in Cheeky Monkey's Fun Fair.

Unfortunately it was closed (what with it being a very wet day in November), but we'll be back in Canvey Island in 2009 to test it out.

The minigolf course used to have 18 holes but during the fairly recent development of the fun park 9 of the holes were demolished and the remaining obstacles on the course like the needle, the watermill and the windmill went too. such a shame as it used to be a great minigolf course

It did indeed use to be 18-holes as I found out when I played the course in April.

It looks good from afar, but as it's lacking felt it doesn't play too well!

Check out my blog post from April's visit here
