Lost Shops - Grainger Games in Warrington

Spotting an old Grainger Games shop in Warrington.

Grainger Games in Warrington

We saw this former Grainger Games shop at the Golden Square shopping centre in Warrington, Cheshire today.

We've also seen former Grainger Games stores in StretfordSalfordHydeAshton-Under-Lyne and Bradford.

Interestingly some of them still had a few bits of stock inside!

The shop unit in Warrington will soon be home to Funky Figures. It's nice to see they've kept all of the former Grainger Games shelving inside to give it a nostalgic hit.

The company was founded in 1996 and ceased operations on the 28th March 2018.

As a brand with shops in the North of England and Scotland I only became a regular shopper at Grainger Games when I moved to Stockport in 2016. I picked up some nice old games for my SEGA Master System there.

Grainger Games in Ashton-Under-Lyne

We spotted the old signs for Grainger Games while having a walk round Ashton-Under-Lyne last week.

The company was founded in 1996 and ceased operations on the 28th March 2018. The Ladysmith Shopping Centre location in Ashton-Under-Lyne became a bike shop and is now a clothes shop. The racking and walls inside are still clearly still using the Grainger Games colour scheme.

A retail time machine

Today is Pretend to be a Time Traveler Day.

I pretend to be a Time Traveler quite a bit by hunting out relics of the past that can still be seen today.

If you could once again shop at a long lost store which one would it be?

A sad sign

It was a brand with shops in the North of England and Scotland, so I only became a regular shopper there when I moved to Stockport back in 2016.

You won't find a PS5 there, but there's still a rack of UFC3 games for the XBOX ONE and PS4 in there.
