Please check out the brilliant blog Smitten By Britain to read an article I wrote about a little bit of Britain we found on the Las Vegas Strip at "The Queen Victoria Pub in Las Vegas."

The Smitten by Britain blog is a blog all about the best of British and is run by American Britophile Melissa Stoey and covers subjects including culture, sports, travel, history, food & drinks and books - it's the home of the Britophile and all things British.

The Las Vegas Darts Classic - Richard vs. Emily

Results of The La$ Vega$ Dart$ Cla$$ic - Richard vs. Emily

On Friday 9th September 2011 Emily and I headed to the Queen Victoria Pub at The Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On our flight over to Las Vegas we'd sat next to one of the pub's owners and he'd said we should check it out while we were there. So we did, and what a great spot it is for a Beer and Cider. And a game of Darts!

With our love of competing against each other in many and varied sports and games, Emily and I faced-off in the Las Vegas Darts Classic competition, with the winner of the best-of-3 legs 301-down championship challenge walking away with a cool $72!

The Queen Victoria Pub has eight Dartboards permanently set-up, plenty of tables and chairs for spectators, a wide-ranging menu and lots of different drinks available.

In our Darts match I managed to beat Emily 2-0, although the match was very close indeed.

I finished both of my games with Double-4!

The Queen Victoria Pub is located in The Riviera Hotel & Casino and is well worth a visit if you're in Las Vegas.

You can find the Queen Victoria Pub on twitter and facebook.

Tonbridge Golf Centre - 9-Hole Crazy Golf Course - Minigolf Played #218

On the way down to Hastings to play in the WMF World Adventure Golf Masters at the brand new 18-hole Pirate Adventure Golf Course, I got lost!?

Considering I have travelled down to Hastings many times since 2007 this was a surprise, but perhaps not that surprising as I didn't have my Coach to navigate for me!

These things often happen for a reason, and on this occasion I actually stumbled across a Crazy Golf course I knew nothing about! A real bonus when you're on a Tour of all the Minigolf courses in the UK!!!

The 9-hole set-up is at Tonbridge Golf Centre and was quite fun to play. Speaking to the man at the Golf Shop the 'World Record' on their course is 15-shots! But this takes into account a special 'local rule' applied to the very long and tricky third hole! Overall I scored a 23(+5).

Tonbridge Golf Centre is also home to a Practice Putting Green. I didn't have time to have a go on that as I'd delayed myself en route to Hastings!

Punk Gig - Geoffrey Oi!cott at The Crown in Bristol

While in Bristol on Saturday night I went to my first-ever Punk Gig (as you do!?) as the 'Cricket Punk' band Geoffrey Oi!cott were playing at The Crown Pub. I'd been tipped off about the gig by my fellow BMGA Tour member Brad Shepherd - himself a member of Punk Rock Band Monkish.

An excellent night and a band I'd definitely recommend seeing!

Watch and listen to the brilliant song Glory Glory Garry Thompson by Geoffrey Oi!Cott.

Me and fellow Minigolfer and Geoffrey Oi!cott/Garry Thompson fan Marc 'The Roller' Bazeley sporting our new 'Umpire Strikes Back' t-shirts at the Adventure Golf course on Sunday.

Cwmbran Darts Classic 2010

Prior to the 2010 Cystadleuaeth Minigolff Cymraeg (Welsh Minigolf Tournament) the participants warmed up their hand-eye coordination with the Cwmbran Darts Classic 2010.

Before the 2009 Cystadleuaeth Minigolff Cymraeg (Welsh Minigolf Tournament) the players competed in The Boules Invitational Tournament at The Mumbles, in Swansea (Abertawe), Wales, when Seve Kukielka defeated Richard Gottfried in the final.

The format for the Cwmbran Darts Classic 2010 saw six players split into two groups of three. Each player played each other in a 301 one-leg shootout, with the top two players from each group progressing to the semi-finals (Group A's winner would face the Runner-up from Group B and vice versa).

Eventually Cwmbran's own Leo 'Young Gun' Kukielka take the victory with a 2-1 victory over his father Jas 'Hob Nob' Kukielka (the 2009 Cystadleuaeth Minigolff Cymraeg champion).

Full results:
Group A
Jas Kukielka beat Paul Johnson
Paul Johnson lost to Richard Gottfried
Richard Gottfried lost to Jas Kukielka

Group B
Leo Kukielka beat Emily Gottfried
Emily Gottfried lost to Seve Kukielka
Leo Kukielka beat Seve Kukielka

Semi-final 1
Jas Kukielka beat Seve Kukielka

Semi-final 2
Leo Kukielka beat Richard Gottfried

Final
Leo 'Young Gun' Kukielka bested Jas 'Hob Nob' Kukielka 2 legs to 1

Ranking positions
5th & 6th - Paul Johnson beat Emily Gottfried by getting nearest the Bull after neither player could checkout on a double!?

3rd & 4th - Richard Gottfried beat Seve Kukielka to take the podium (and a measure of revenge over his Petanque defeat in 2009)
