In our match on the Championship Adventure Golf course I won with a score of 48 to Emily's 52. We heard the course record is 38. A score that low on the tricky course will certainly take some beating!
The Championship Adventure Golf course was the 730th visited and 430th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We had a great time on the well maintained course.
Visiting Championship Adventure Golf in New Brighton
On Saturday 13th May (National Miniature Golf Day) we headed to New Brighton to play the two Championship Adventure Golf courses on King's Parade.
Championship Adventure Golf in New Brighton is home to 36-holes of minigolf
Championship Adventure Golf opened in 2014 and we've been looking forward to playing the courses since then. It was worth the wait. Both the Championship and Local Landmark layouts are superb miniature golf courses and in great condition.
There's a nice little four-hole putting green to warm-up before hitting the full 18-holes
I really like the golf ball topped flag poles at the course
In our matches I defeated Emily 48-52 and 50-53.
The courses are not easy, but they do reward good putting skills. While you're unlikely to get a lot of holes-in-one, there is a nice incentive to do so, as you receive a badge to mark the achievement!
Minigolf winnings
I managed to get one ace on each course, while Emily scored two perfect shots on the Landmark course.
Emily after her ace on the lighthouse hole
We enjoyed our day out at the resort and we're looking forward to a return visit to the courses and New Brighton as a whole.
The new courses are certainly different to the old 18-hole Kings Parade Crazy Golf course that we had a look at on our only other visit to New Brighton back in 2011. The Adventure Golf courses at Kings Parade Gardens were built on the area once used for tennis courts. The old concrete Crazy Golf course sat to the left of the steps you took to reach the courts.
Spotting an array of benches in the Wirral seaside resort.
We spotted a lot of different benches while visiting New Brighton at the weekend. I'm sure our friends at the Park Bench Appreciation Society and Dull Men's Club will have a passing and/or mild interest in them.
One of the first benches we saw was this example on King's Parade. It faces the sea. However, the view behind it is better as there's a 36-hole Adventure Golf course, Art Deco kiosk and Brutalist block of flats to look at
The Wirral Older Peoples Parliament have put these colourful benches in place along the promenade. They were certainly eyecatching
Not dull
There are benches all around the sewerage building on the front
This intriguing bench was on the Magazines Promenade
The benches put in by the Wirral Older Peoples Parliament fit perfectly in the space on the sea wall. As do the litter bins
They certainly brighten up the dull promenade
Near the model boating pond is a bench in the concrete wall
