Championship Mini Golf in New Brighton

Playing the Championship Mini Golf course in New Brighton.

The 730th course visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour was the 18-hole Championship Adventure Golf on King's Parade in New Brighton.

In our match on the Championship Adventure Golf course I won with a score of 48 to Emily's 52. We heard the course record is 38. A score that low on the tricky course will certainly take some beating!

The Championship Adventure Golf course was the 730th visited and 430th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We had a great time on the well maintained course.

Championship Adventure Golf in New Brighton

Visiting Championship Adventure Golf in New Brighton

On Saturday 13th May (National Miniature Golf Day) we headed to New Brighton to play the two Championship Adventure Golf courses on King's Parade.

Championship Adventure Golf opened in 2014 and we've been looking forward to playing the courses since then. It was worth the wait. Both the Championship and Local Landmark layouts are superb miniature golf courses and in great condition.

The courses became the 730th and 731st visited and 430th and 431st played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

I really like the golf ball topped flag poles at the course

In our matches I defeated Emily 48-52 and 50-53.

The courses are not easy, but they do reward good putting skills. While you're unlikely to get a lot of holes-in-one, there is a nice incentive to do so, as you receive a badge to mark the achievement!

I managed to get one ace on each course, while Emily scored two perfect shots on the Landmark course.

We enjoyed our day out at the resort and we're looking forward to a return visit to the courses and New Brighton as a whole.

Head over to the Championship Adventure Golf website for more info, prices and opening times.

The new courses are certainly different to the old 18-hole Kings Parade Crazy Golf course that we had a look at on our only other visit to New Brighton back in 2011. The Adventure Golf courses at Kings Parade Gardens were built on the area once used for tennis courts. The old concrete Crazy Golf course sat to the left of the steps you took to reach the courts.

Championship Adventure Golf in New Brighton

Brand new Championship Adventure Golf course heading to New Brighton seafront.

The Wirral seaside resort of New Brighton will see a new 18-hole Mini Golf course opening in a few weeks time!

The course is due to open in Kings Parade Gardens on the 11th of April 2013 and will feature miniature versions of famous holes from the 'regular' version of the sport.

Nick Ashfield from Championship Miniature Golf is the man behind the course and has a pedigree in course design and building having put together the 9-hole Championship Miniature Golf that was, until recently, in Manchester. The course was the venue for the 2009 Mini Masters and Mini Open tournaments in which I was victorious in! Note: Emily was runner-up in the Mini Open and Nick was fifth.

The new Adventure Golf course replaces the old 18-hole Crazy Golf course that had fallen into a quite poor state. On our visit in March 2011 we were unable to play the course as part of our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour as we were there too early for the summer season.

For all of the latest news, photos and details of upcoming events at the course make sure to follow Adventure Golf New Brighton on Twitter @playminigolf

Emily and I are looking forward to playing the course and competing in future competitions on the Wirral Peninsula's latest attraction!

New Brighton's 'Pier'

While in New Brighton, Wirral on Saturday 19th March 2011 we noticed there used to be a Pier there.

Coast Magazine is currently running a campaign that is encouraging people to walk as many of Britain's Piers as possible so they can raise funds to help restore the Grade II-listed pier in Hastings - which was almost all destroyed by fire in October 2010. On our last look at the Coast Magazine 'Pier Prom Tick List', of the 51 surviving Piers in the UK, we had visited 32 of them on our travels around the UK and the Coast! More details of our Piers-Visited-List.
